Aleister Black Talks About How EVOLVE Pushed Him As a Wrestler
WWE recently spoke with Aleister Black about his time in EVOLVE as Tommy End to help hype the company’s 10th anniversary show this weekend.
He said: ““EVOLVE was important to me because it was one of the first companies in the United States that put a lot of eggs in my basket. They put a lot of faith and trust in me. EVOLVE allowed me to work with some of the highest caliber athletes around the world and helped shape me in my path of becoming a WWE superstar. A lot of the stars, even if you look now, a lot of the stars in current NXT walked the same route I did, and they did EVOLVE before becoming an NXT superstar. It’s sink or swim. If you want to be the best, you have to compete against the best and not everyone can compete against the best. So whether I was good enough, it was really testing my mettle. I would be put in there with guys like Kassius Ohno or Zack Sabre Jr and it was like, ‘show us what you got.’ It was sink or swim.”
