Alex Shelley Talks About Some of TNA’s ‘Moronic’ Booking Decisions During His Time There
Alex Shelley posted a series of tweets today talking about some of TNA’s ‘moronic’ booking decisions at the time of a photo he posted. The photo features himself, Kazuchika Okada, Brian Kendrick and The Young Bucks, who, as he noted, were not booked for that night’s taping. He spoke about how they were constantly overlooked and on that particular night, they weren’t on the show but a segment featuring Orlando Jordan pantomiming ejaculation while watching Rob Terry wrestle was. You can see the full series of tweets below. He wrote:
So, here we go. None of us were booked for TV that day in Orlando. We rode rides and ate funnel cake. pic.twitter.com/Rb4YmledlC

A little more context on the photo: TNA sent a runner out to the park to wrangle tourists into the studio. You could get your picture taken with the X-Division Title and be ushered into the studio to serve as an audience member.

We decided to get our picture with the belt as a total piss take. The runner didn’t recognize us at all. No room for us on the show though, too busy with Nasty Boys and Orlando Jordan pantomiming ejaculation with lotion while watching Rob Terry wrestle.

No offense to The Nasty Boys or Orlando Jordan. All the offense to whomever decided to not have us wrestle, cut our pay, and overlook us. Over and over and over again.

These things happening for years and seeing how my friends were treated (and they truly loved wrestling) were the catalyst for me going back to school. So I didn’t have to put up with such moronic decisions controlling my future, financially or emotionally.

Thank God for @njpw1972.

PS: Let’s get something straight about my recounting of talented wrestlers not being utilized by a former employer. 1. Veterans (and everyone) can be utilized productively. That’s why ECW ruled: everyone was used well.

2. Orlando Jordan isn’t to blame. Bad television is. This was on a wrestling show. If it were on a Garth Ennis series adapted from a trade paperback, cool (er go, the orgy scene from Preacher) but it wasn’t. But hey, I am a wrestling purist, and it’s subjective.

3. None of us, as wrestlers, write the show. I don’t know who did. I don’t care. I do know heaps of guys there for years were overlooked, left, and did awesome things elsewhere. That part is OBjective, not SUBjective. End rant.

Also, please read this. I truly appreciate any time any one puts into my exploits, but I think a lot of us share the same struggles and if I can help just ONE person, win. https://t.co/jp2dKUR5Gw
