During last night’s episode of Raw, Adam Pearce announced that Peyton Royce and Lacey Evans would be replacing Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke for the Raw women’s team for the Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown match at Survivor Series 2020. Rose was taken out by Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler during a tag team match. Later on during the show, Retribution’s Reckoning (aka Mia Yim) attacked Dana Brooke. After that, Pearce said neither woman could compete on Sunday. Dave Meltzer addressed the changes to the match on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio.

According to Meltzer, the change to the match was caused by Mandy Rose legitimately injuring her shoulder on last week’s episode. After Jax’s match with Asuka , Rose and Brooke got into a brawl with Jax and Baszler You can view a a video of the segment below. The suspected injury occurs at about two minutes and 14 seconds into the video.

After Jax tosses Mandy Rose through the ropes, she appears to land awkwardly shoulder first on the ring apron area. This caused the injury angle that was done on last night’s Raw to create an in-storyline reason to take Mandy Rose out of the match.

With Mandy Rose out of the elimination match, Meltzer said, “For whatever reason, they [WWE] just didn’t want Dana Brooke in.” As a result, WWE set up a worked injury angle with Reckoning assaulting Brooke, which has now taken Brooke out of the Survivor Series matchup as well. Now, Peyton Royce and Lacey Evans will serve as their replacements for Team Raw on Sunday.

The women’s Team Raw now consists of Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler, Lana, Lacey Evans, and Peyton Royce. They will face Team SmackDown, consisting of Bianca Belair, Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, and two members to be decided later at Survivor Series. WWE Survivor Series 2020 is scheduled for Sunday, November 22. It will be held at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. It will be broadcast live on the WWE Network.
