Backstage News On Jinder Mahal vs. Brock Lesnar At WWE Survivor Series & Lesnar’s Royal Rumble Opponent
According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the idea of doing a Universal Champion Brock Lesnar vs. WWE Champion Jinder Mahal match for Survivor Series has been discussed for a long time but the current mentality is that this is not a major match. The company looks at the match as something for Lesnar to do on a big show, to build to bigger matches for him on the way to WrestleMania.
The WON notes that Brock Lesnar losing to Jinder Mahal makes no sense due to his recent wins over Bill Goldberg, Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman. But if Mahal loses clean it clearly positions Smackdown as the B show. The story adds that a DQ/non-finish is always possible, but that finishes like that at major shows usually don’t sit well with fans.
At this time, it appears that Finn Balor will be Lesnar’s opponent for the Royal Rumble in January and then he will face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34.
