As previously reported, it appeared that Drew Gulak’s brief time as a free agent had come to an end. It had been reported that he was in attendances at yesterday’s WWE Smackdown TV tapings. Earlier this month, Gulak’s contract had expired, and he became a free agent. However, it wasn’t yet confirmed if Gulak had signed a new WWE contract yet. Dave Meltzer had more information on Drew Gulak reportedly coming to terms on a new WWE contract on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio.

According to Meltzer, “Gulak’s back, yeah, on Smackdown. So, they came to terms.” Meltzer added that other promoters attempted to book Gulak for future dates after he became a free agent. That meant that Gulak could have even appeared at AEW Double or Nothing. However, based on Gulak’s reactions to promoters offering him dates, the promoters knew Gulak already had a plan in place to be working elsewhere.

Meltzer stated, “The way he reacted, I guess when people tried to contact him, the way he reacted, they didn’t know he was going back to WWE, but they knew was going somewhere because he was not interested in anything.”

Also, PWInsider reports that WWE sources “have confirmed” Gulak has signed a new deal with WWE.

Now, it appears Drew Gulak is definitely back under contract with WWE, since he was working yesterday’s TV tapings. Additionally, his profile was moved back to the Smackdown roster after it was briefly moved to the alumni section while he was a free agent.
