Backstage Rumor on Surprises Planned for Impact Slammiversary
– Fightful Select has an update on Impact Wrestling’s plans for this year’s Slammiversary pay-per-view event in July. According to the report, Impact sources have stated that this year’s event will feature at least two surprises in the form of free agents from outside of Impact debuting for the company.
Additionally, one of those debuts is said to be a wrestler who is already under contract somewhere else, and the other one is a talent who was released from WWE. As previously noted, Slammiversary is scheduled for Saturday, July 14. That date falls after the expiration of non-compete clauses for many talents who were released by WWE on April 15; other than Samoa Joe, who returned to NXT this month.
Also, Impact is reportedly planning a “reinvigoration” for the Knockouts division next month.
