Backstage Rumor on WWE Officials Being High on Damian Priest

– According to Dave Meltzer on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE officials are apparently high on Damian Priest at the moment, saying “they like him.” Damian Priest recently joined the Raw roster after making his main roster debut at the 2021 Royal Rumble in the men’s Rumble match.

Meltzer added that WWE officials see Priest as a potential new Latin American star the company has been looking for ever since Alberto Del Rio (aka Alberto El Patron) left the company. Meltzer stated on Priest, “They [WWE] have been looking for that new Latin star ever since Alberto Del Rio left, and they got a tall guy. And he talks really well, and you know, he moves really well. And he’s not bad in the ring, he’s good in the ring, so yeah. I think he’s going to get a real good chance.”

Priest is currently being paired up with rapper WWE 24/7 championBad Bunny on WWE programming. During a recent interview, Priest noted that if having Bad Bunny means he will make his WrestleMania debut this year, then he’s “all for it.”
