– For the past two years, due to the nature of the pandemic, WWE has shifted course with WrestleMania and split the event up into two nights. With the hope that pandemic restrictions and lockdowns lifting later this year, it raises the question of what WWE will do with future WrestleMania events, in light of previous events becoming quite long. Dave Meltzer addressed the topic on today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio.

According to Meltzer, the backstage plan for WWE “right now” is to have WrestleMania on one night next year (2022) and the following year (2023). However, Meltzer noted that WWE could change those plans at some point.

Currently, WrestleMania 38 is scheduled for April 3, 2022 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Meanwhile, WrestleMania 39 is scheduled for April 2, 2023 in Inglewood, California at SoFi Stadium. This weekend’s event was originally supposed to be held at SoFi this year. However, the pandemic restrictions altered plans, so WWE ended up having to hold this year’s event in Tampa, Florida at Raymond James Stadium.

Ironically enough, WrestleMania 36 was supposed to be at Raymond James, until the pandemic restrictions caused WWE to shift course and hold the event at the WWE Performance Center.

The two-night event tonight and tomorrow at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. Both shows will be broadcast live on Peacock in the US and the WWE Network everywhere else.
