Backstage Rumor on Surprise Entrant for Tonight’s Royal Rumble (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

– PWInsider reports that former WWE Superstar Carlito, aka Carlito Colon, is going to appear as a surprise entrant in the men’s Royal Rumble match at tonight’s event. This would be Carlito’s first match in WWE since he worked a house show event in May 2010.

Additionally, it’s rumored that Carlito will also appear on tomorrow night’s episode of Raw and potentially get a tryout in a producer role for WWE.

Carlito has made some sporadic appearances for WWE over the years. He inducted his father, Carlos Colon, into the WWE Hall of Fame in during WrestleMania Weekend in 2014. He also made an appearance on a skit for The Edge and Christian Show That Totally Reeks of Awesomeness.

As previously reported, Carlito was advertised to appear at the Legends Night edition of Raw, but he didn’t actually appear. PWInsider’s report noted that the word being spread backstage is that Carlito didn’t appear at Legends Night because he didn’t want to return just for a short cameo.

The WWE Royal Rumble 2021 is set for later tonight at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. It will be broadcast live on the WWE Network.
