Backstage Update on Dustin Rhodes’ AEW Contract Status
– Fightful Select has an update on the contract status of ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champion and World Tag Team Champion Dustin Rhodes. According to the report, Dustin Rhodes’ current AEW contract is set to expire this fall, noting that it runs through September 2024.
While Rhodes currently holds multiple ROH Titles, Fightful notes that his AEW contract status has not changed. Rhodes has been with AEW since the company began in 2019. At AEW’s debut event, Double or Nothing, he faced his younger brother, Cody Rhodes, in a singles match. Cody Rhodes won the bout.
Earlier this year, Dustin Rhodes confirmed his AEW contract is up in September, but he also wrote that doesn’t mean he’s done. At the time, he wrote, “Yes my contract is up in September, and No, I am absolutely NOT DONE. Having the best matches of my life and hopefully, God willing I will get to retire on my own terms, respected with a full heart. Hopefully Negotiations go well because I am damn worth the world.”
Rhodes currently holds the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Titles with The Von Erichs, and he and Sammy Guevara hold the ROH Tag Team Championships. He also works as a coach behind-the-scenes for AEW, specifically the women’s division.
