Backstage Update on Rush and Dragon Lee’s Futures in ROH
– As previously noted, ROH World champion Rush and TV champion Dragon Lee are finally returning to action in Ring of Honor at this month’s Final Battle event. These will be their first matches in the promotion since the shutdowns and hiatuses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. PWInsider has an update on their contract statuses within ROH.
Per the update, Rush’s current contract is believed to expire at the end of 2020. The report did not mention Lee’s current contract end date, but it did note that Lee’s work has been getting “considerable interest” from other wrestling promotions.
Additionally, ROH CEO Joe Koff told PWInsider that “conversations are ongoing” with both wrestlers with regards to their futures in the company for 2021 and later on.
Rush is set to defend his ROH World title on Friday against Brody King. Meanwhile, Dragon Lee will defend the TV title against the winner of a Fatal 4-Way match scheduled for earlier in the evening featuring Tony Deppen, Dak Draper, LSG, and Josh Woods.
