– On this week’s edition of SmackDown, Baron Corbin will battle Shinsuke Nakamura, with the winner obtaining possession of Corbin’s King of the Ring Crown. During today’s edition of WWE’s The Bump, Baron Corbin spoke about other Superstars, such as Shinsuke Nakamura and Xavier Woods wanting the crown. It’s been one of Xavier Woods’ dreams to become King of the Ring in his wrestling career. Below is an excerpt of the currently crownless Corbin:

“I think everyone has had their eye on it, just like they do with a Championship title. They want an opportunity, a chance, and they want to earn it. That’s what the crown does to people. Then you have people who are cowards like Shinsuke who want to steal it. At least Xavier Woods wants to earn an opportunity to wear the crown. It’s important to him and his career. I’m happy to make it a disappointment, a regret in his long career, that he came up short for something he cares so dearly about, but the tournament is what’s necessary to wear the crown and I won it. If you want a shot, you talk to somebody, maybe cry to a few people, and try to get another tournament set up. And Xavier Woods, I would love to face him in that tournament, absolutely. It could be in the finals. It could be first round. His dream will be cut short, but I’m happy to do it. I’m happy to defend it in the right circumstances.”

WWE agent Adam Pearce later responded to Corbin’s comments via Twitter. He wrote, “I know that I have had many conversations with @BaronCorbinWWE on this very topic. Stay tuned.”
