Batista Critiques Asuka Jobbing to Rhea Ripley on WWE Raw
– During last Monday’s edition of WWE Raw, Rhea Ripley faced Asuka in a non-title match during the show, and Ripley pinned Asuka clean during the match after hitting her with the Riptide. Former WWE Superstar Dave Bautista (aka Batista) was highly critical of the decision to have Asuka lose clean to the Raw Women’s champion during the non-title match. In a clip of the finish to the match posted on WWE’s official Instagram (h/t Daily Wrestling News) account, Batista wrote a comment slamming the finish.
Batista commented, “Seriously? Jobbing out Asuka?! [rolling eyes] WTF?” You can view an image of Batista’s comments below, along with the original Instagram post.
Later on Tuesday (May 11), Batista shared his praise for Asuka in response to the clip of Asuka reacting to finding out winning the Money in the Bank Ladder Match in 2020 awarded her the Raw Women’s title. He wrote on that clip, “Asuka is my ****ing hero!”
Asuka will get another shot at the Raw Women’s Championship later this Sunday at WrestleMania Backlash. She will face champ Rhea Ripley and former champion Charlotte Flair in a Triple Threat Match for the title. The event will be broadcast live on Peacock in the US and the WWE Network everywhere else.
