Smackdown Women’s Champion Bayley has been announced as the top women’s wrestler of 2020, at least according to Pro Wrestling Illustrated. She has achieved the #1 spot on the annual PWI Women’s 100, on a list where WWE takes the top five spots total.

This is Bayley’s highest position on the chart and her first time at #1. She previously ranked #6 in 2019, #17 in 2018, #5 in both 2017 and 2016, #11 in 2015, #19 in 2014 and #47 in 2013.

The top ten this year includes:

1. Bayley (Last year: #6)
2. Becky Lynch (LY: #1)
3. Asuka (LY: #11)
4. Charlotte Flair (LY: #2)
5. Sasha Banks (LY: #14)
6. Hikaru Shida (LY: #62)
7. Tessa Blanchard (LY: #5)
8. Riho (LY: #43)
9. Io Shirai (LY: #8)
10. Mayu Iwatani (LY: #16)

Bayley wrote of her achievement: “Now if only I got the cover all to myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Bayley-bration, 500 days of Bayley, the year of the Bayley, it just keeps getting better.

This has been a great year for Bayley, as she has not only been Smackdown Women’s champion since October 11, 2019, but she was also WWE Women’s tag team champion as well. She has held the Smackdown women’s title longer than anyone in both a single reign (368 days) and combined days as champion (508 days). She will soon pass Becky Lynch’s first reign as the RAW Women’s champion (373 days) and if she doesn’t lose to Sasha Banks at Hell in a Cell, she will certainly pass the Fabulous Moolah’s third reign as the WWE Women’s Champion (380 days).
