Being the Elite Recap: Backstage At First AEW Dynamite

The latest edition of Being the Elite is now online featuring a behind-the-scenes look at the first episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT. Here are highlights from the episode:

– Kenny Omega tells the Young Bucks that their voicemail from the last episode was “f**king stupid.” He then says that he’s “just getting started” and tells them he’s ready for their six-man tag later on in the night. He continues to act bizarre.

– The Bucks talk about wanting to hit a home run with the first Dynamite episode.

– Orange Cassidy is asked a series of questions. When he got into wrestling (“Awhile ago.”), how it feels to be in AEW (“It’s good.”) and what it’s like to be friends with Chuck Taylor and Trent (“It’s fun.”). The Bucks ask Cassidy what he’s doing there and he doesn’t answer. They think he’s sleeping but when they raise his sunglasses, his eyes are wide open. He stands up and says, “alright guys, good talk” before leaving.

– Silent Bob and Jungle Boy “talk” before Jay and Luchasaurus interrupt. Jungle Boy leaves on Luchasaurus’ shoulders and Bob tries the same with Jay but it doesn’t work.

– The Librarians visit the Library of Congress.

– MJF reveals his new “I can’t afford a real scarf” scarf for the fans.

– Cody looks at the Dynamite set. Later on, the Bucks and Omega watch Riho vs. Nyla Rose.

– Behind-the-scenes footage of Jon Moxley sneaking to the ring to attack Kenny Omega.

– The Young Bucks yell at Hangman Page for not helping them when they were attacked by Chris Jericho’s group. He said he was in the regular locker room, not the VIP one. They say he hasn’t talked to them since he lost to Chris Jericho and leave. Rhodes tells him they have a point, because he’s not in the Elite and he went out to help. Page says he’ll make it up to Rhodes, which leads to the announcement of Rhodes and Page vs. Sammy Guevara and Chris Jericho.

– Kenny Omega is getting looked at by the doctor after the attack by Moxley when the Bucks come in to talk. Omega says he should have helped, but he was focused on Moxley. Matt says they aren’t mad, just disappointed, then leave.
