Hi, hello & welcome to the column nobody in the world of wrestling wants to be in, Botched! It was Halloween week, which made it kind of tempting to just fill this column with wrestlers in goofy costumes and go on a Jim Cornette rant about how funny stuff kills the business. Not that I entirely agree, it just looks like fun. Instead, we’ll take a look at five things that weren’t actually supposed to happen.

1. Rollins takes a header on a suicide dive: Seth Rollins was having a tough time with Kane on Monday night. See, Kane is murdering all the young stars on the roster so it’ll be more important when Braun Strowman murders him. It makes perfect sense to somebody. It was going to take more than one suicide dive to have any effect on Kane, and when you’re doing more than one suicide dive something is just bound to go wrong.

Booker T tried to play it off like Kane got him with a big shot. Bless his heart.

2. Booker Can’t Count Powerslams: Speaking of Booker, he had problems later on in the show keeping track of how many times Braun Strowman powerslammed Curtis Axel during his return to Raw.

At 6:07 you’ll notice Booker say “That’s five.” The count was at four. Hey, he was only off by one, right? We shouldn’t give the five time five time five time five time WCW Champion so much grief over a minor mistake.

3. Botch or No Botch? Braun Strowman’s Dumpster: Speaking of Braun, most eagle-eyed viewers probably noticed something about his return on Monday night. The last time we saw him, he was being loaded into a garbage truck at TLC.

The next time we saw him, eight days later on Raw, he emerged from a garbage truck.

You’ll notice that the garbage trucks used in Strowman’s death & re-birth don’t look the same. One is white. One is red. Some folks online were aghast at this, as it showed a startling lack of continuity. I think those folks were assuming that Braun had stayed in the garbage truck for eight days.

To me, it was pretty obvious what was going on. Braun escaped from the TLC garbage truck sometime before Raw. Once arriving in Baltimore, he went to the dump and forced a sanitation worker to take him to Royal Farms Arena in a garbage truck. Then he played mind games with Miz all night until the end when he had the driver back the garbage truck in front of Miz’s limo & open the back with Braun Strowman inside surrounded by garbage.

Yes, it’s stupid. But it makes more sense than the dude hanging out inside a garbage truck for eight days, right?

4. Sami Zayn vs Announce Table : All Sami Zayn was trying to do on Tuesday night was help his best friend, Kevin Owens. He’s an honest man and an esteemed member of society. Sometimes, even good men do bad things accidentally. Like when Sami bopped a fan in the head with the top of the SmackDown Live announce table.

You know Sami didn’t mean to do that. He just doesn’t have enough experience clearing WWE announce tables. I would think this would be something they would cover in classes at the Performance Center. Students should be taught how to properly clear WWE announce tables, how to go through them without killing themselves or their opponents…you know, things that they might actually have to do one of these days that they didn’t do in the indies.

Have you seen indy wrestling tables? They’re not the same thing.

5. All those masks look the same: Want a Shinsuke Nakamura mask? Well, no, not really to be honest. I’m not sure the man’s ever worn one. You New Japan fans can correct me if I’m wrong on that one. In any event, you could buy your very own Shinsuke Nakamura mask at WWE’s live event in Glasgow, Scotland this week. I’m not sure if it’s his face, or…

Oh. It’s an Asuka mask.
