Hi, hello & welcome to Botched! It’s been another crazy week in the world of wrestling. We’ve got an all-WWE week here, with fun from Raw, SmackDown & the Mae Young Classic!

1. Almost Famouser: Dolph Ziggler’s probably done the Famouser more times than anybody else at this point. That doesn’t mean it goes completely right every single time.

It looks like he slipped off Roman’s head but still managed to take the Big Dog down.

2. Powerful Ronda: Ronda Rousey has been very impressive early on in her WWE career. That doesn’t mean she’s been the most graceful performer of all time. Especially with her throws & suplexes &…whatever this was.

On the bright side that was probably the best way things could have gone for Ruby Riott.
3. Random Counting Referee: Every good referee should be checking the shoulders every time a wrestler is on the mat. Even if its on a move as elementary as a side headlock, you never know when a three count can happen. There’s only one thing to remember…count when the shoulders are down, not when they aren’t.

Bobby Lashley’s shoulder was nowhere near the mat, yet this boy kept counting. Makes things look a little fishy, doesn’t it?

4. Ugh diving headbutt: Harley Race warned wrestlers that came after him not to use one of the moves that made him famous, the diving headbutt. Theoretically, the move should be safe if you take the impact with the right parts of your body. It doesn’t always seem to work out that way, and there’s a trend of wrestlers that regularly used the move having severe difficulties later in life. Daniel Bryan, a man that’s already retired once due to concussion issues, regularly utilizes the diving headbutt. He tried it on Shelton Benjamin Tuesday night, and the results were the opposite of good.

Bryan probably feels obligated to keep doing the move. He doesn’t want to disappoint the fans that love him because he does things like diving headbutts & suicide dives & things like that. Also, he loves doing these moves and doesn’t believe in holding back. He’s going to need to at some point, or things could end worse than they did the first time.

5. Kacy slips up, but doesn’t give up: Kacy Catanzaro has quickly become a favorite of those watching the Mae Young Classic. The American Ninja Warrior veteran blends her gymnastics background into her wrestling in a way that’s going to please most of the WWE Universe. It’s still early in her training, so there are going to be miscues along the way.

At 4:22 into the video of her match with Rhea Ripley, Kacy has a poor result trying to jump onto the ropes. She doesn’t quit though, and shortly afterwards hits an incredible flippy move. Online critics back in the day used to scoff at wrestlers that tried to do their moves after failing the first time. Me, I find it endearing. As long as they hit them the second time. Once it gets to three or four times it gets pretty sad.
