Botched!: Cena’s ‘Spinebuster,’ Kayla’s Bobble, More

John Cena Raw 32618

Hi, hello & welcome to Botched! It was another busy week in the world of professional wrestling, which is good for me because I was sick as a dog (still am actually) & didn’t want to search too hard for mistakes this week. Finding five was pretty easy, and I had a little help from my friends.

1. Was it a spinebuster or nah?

When Cena went for the flying crotch-to-the-face and Drew caught him and power-bombed him, Cole called it a spine-buster.

Arn Anderson is spinning in his grave. (I don’t know why he’s laying in his grave, but out of respect for Double A, I don’t question Arn Anderson)

Respectfully yours,
John Cena’s bald spot

Roll that beautiful bean footage!

At 1:35 you see Cena on the top turnbuckle. He definitely jumps into a powerbomb, no doubt about it. I was going to cut Cole a little slack because there have been different spinebuster variations over the years, but that was definitely part of the powerbomb family. Thank you for your contribution, Mr. Spot.

2. Monster’s Ball Tables are Tough

Abyss loves taking people to the Monster’s Ball. At Impact’s Homecoming event in Nashville, it was Eli Drake, the man that’s all about old school & telling stories and not just doing spots. After this you can see why…

I don’t think anybody got seriously injured on that, so it went as well as it could have.

You guys know how much I love fun with entrance graphics. We’ve seen Harlot Flair. We’ve enjoyed the heck out of Big Ass. Now, we have a new addition to the collection from NXT UK’s Takeover: Blackpool…

As if I could be more excited about WALTER showing up to kill fools on the WWE Network.

4. Fun with PCO & Brody King

Brody King & PCO had quite the altercation at PWG some time back. Our boy Daniel got some clips for us. First, Brody tried a rana on PCO that went…well, honestly, the way he should have expected it to considering their heights & weights.

Later, PCO tried a moonsault onto Brody, whose head was resting off of the apron. Again, it went the way he should have expected it to.

Sometimes you gotta know your own limits.

5. Kayla Can’t Catch

We’ve seen a number of NXT call-ups lately, but one that’s flown under the radar is SmackDown Live’s newest backstage interviewer, Kayla Braxton. She’s got plenty of talents, but catching keys thrown by Becky Lynch isn’t one of them.

No word on if she actually parked The Man’s ride or not.
