Botched!: Nia Jax vs. Elimination Pod, Ronda Rousey vs. Crutch, More

Nia Jax WWE Raw

Hi, hello & welcome to Botched! It was a busy week in WWE Land, with Elimination Chamber, Raw, SmackDown Live and all the usual shenanigans. There were plenty of miscues, here are the five that were most noticeable!

1. Nia Jax vs. A Pod

Nia Jax & Tamina were considered favorites to be the first Women’s Tag Team Champions, but their chances went kaputski when Nia went through a pod. It was a pretty cool idea, but looked really awkward in practice.

Like, Bayley didn’t even really have to move. It looked like somebody was playing as Nia Jax in a video game & pushed the run button at the wrong time.

2. Don’t Let Becky Hit You With A Crutch

Much like other top stars before her, Becky Lynch doesn’t let small things like being suspended or having a knee injury keep her from appearing on wrestling shows. She crutched right down to the ring, then wore out Charlotte & Ronda Rousey with her crutches like top stars do.

The only problem? Ronda got a pretty bad gash on her hairline. The type of gash that wrestling fans would complain about if somebody else did it. Becky gets a pass though, as she’s The Man. Ronda ended up being fine, so it’s not like she ruined the main event or anything. Just gotta be a little more careful when swinging foreign objects.

3. No Screw-ups, Pal!

Triple H got a little ahead of himself in his opening Raw promo.

Monday was a pretty rough night for promo work all the way around from what I could tell. There must have been something in the air…

4. Wrong Titles

I don’t want to pile on Bayley & Sasha Banks too much. There aren’t two better choices for the first (in a really long time) WWE Women’s Tag Team Champioship holders. Their talking didn’t go so well this week though.

To be fair, I was watching a 1992 episode of SuperStars yesterday and Jimmy Hart did the same thing, calling Money Inc. the WWE Champions. And that stuff was pre-taped, so I don’t know what his excuse was.

5. Scary Sunset Flip

It was a big week for some of NXT’s brightest stars. Ricochet, Aleister Black, Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa all made their debuts on WWE Raw & SmackDown Live, and each man got a chance to shine. Unfortunately for Ciampa, it was almost his last appearances anywhere for a long time.

Ciampa’s already had plenty of knee problems in his career, so anytime he ends up in a position like that is extra dangerous. Fortunately, both he & Sheamus emerged unscathed.
