– According to Wrestling Observer Radio (via sportskeeda.com), Brock Lesnar may not defend the Universal Title at the Royal Rumble. Lesnar will appear at the Royal Rumble, but won’t defend the title because WWE does not have a suitable opponent for him.
This follows reports that WWE was changing plans for Lesnar at the Rumble. Finn Balor was reportedly going to face Lesnar, but there were reports that WWE was losing faith in Balor, and didn’t think he was over enough for the match. WWE also reportedly didn’t want to go back to Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman for the title.
