Brody King on How He and Jon Moxley Share an Affinity for Japanese Wrestling
– During an appearance on Busted Open Radio this week, AEW wrestler Brody King discussed Jon Moxley ahead of their AEW Interim World Championship match on tonight’s edition of AEW Dynamite. Below are some highlights (via WrestlingInc.com):
Brody King on how he and Jon Moxley share a love of Japanese wrestling: “Jon and I both have a certain affinity towards violence and Japanese wrestling, and we’re very physical and intense people.” King notes that the bout isn’t a match people expected, but promises that “it’s going to be very, very physical.”
On how they both share a physical, gritty style: “I feel like Jon and myself both have a very gritty, violent style. It’s not flips and beautiful moves. It’s violent, it’s hard-hitting, and that is the brand of pro wrestling that I want to see on the biggest stage.”
On his preference for the AJPW four pillars style: “I wanna see that four pillars from All Japan Pro Wrestling. I want to see that New Japan strong style. … I want to see people look like they’re in actual agony and getting the crap beaten out of them.”
That match goes down later tonight on AEW Dynamite. The show will be broadcast live at 8:00 pm EST on TBS.
