Charlotte Flair Earned The Most Viewers For NXT During 2020
It’s good to be the Queen. While NXT lost viewers over the past year compared to 2019, one of the bright spots has been the segments featuring Charlotte Flair. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Flair brought the most eyeballs to NXT during 2020, drawing 47,000 new viewers per segment. This is almost double The Velveteen Dream (#2) and Rhea Ripley (#3). This is based on quarter hour total viewership.
Although Ripley has the distinction of being the only wrestler on Wednesday nights who had every segment she appeared on do better than the segment before it.
For AEW, which rose in total viewers year-by-year, Jon Moxley brought the most viewers with an average increase of 20,000. Some of the people who have been in the highest rated segments ended up averaging out to negative numbers, including Orange Cassidy, The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Adam Page, MJF, Darby Allin and Eddie Kingston. It was noted this is likely also true of RAW, due to the stars that consistently appear in hour three (which almost always loses viewers).
