Kenny Omega - NJPW's Chris Jericho vs. Kenny Omega - Wrestle Kingdom 12

In an interview with Proresu Today (Via SportsKeeda), Chris Jericho spoke about the possibility of having future matches in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Jericho will fight Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 12 on January 4.

Jericho said that his match with Omega will be bigger than Kazuchika Okada vs. Tetsuya Naito at the same event. He said that he got Vince McMahon’s blessing to got to NJPW and face Omega after his WWE contract came to an end.

He said he isn’t under a WWE contract and he’s free to do whatever he wants. He added this has nothing to do with WWE. He said that his match with Omega is something that is a long time coming, much like Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather. He said that Omega is the best he’s ever seen but he is “better than the best.” He said that outside of WWE, NJPW is the largest wrestling company with top performers and a brand that’s popular worldwide.

He added: “(Our match) might never happen again. That gives it a different level of importance…I’ve said maybe me and Kenny will never happen again, but I never said I’d only do one match. I never said this would be my last match with New Japan. Wait and see.
