Chris Jericho Wouldn’t Have Signed With AEW Without A TV Deal
In an interview with Busted Open Radio (via Wrestlezone, Chris Jericho said that he wouldn’t have signed with All Elite Wrestling if they didn’t have a TV deal in place. It was reported earlier today that Jericho’s deal is for three years, with Jericho himself reportedly calling it the best deal of his career. Here are highlights:
On AEW signing staff: “There’s a whole backstage element that’s being signed of all the things that you see in WWE from Talent Relations, to Booking Agents, to Director of the show.”
On a TV deal: “As far as TV goes, I mean that’s one of the things, I wouldn’t have gone to all Elite if there wasn’t a strong TV deal on the table and there’s a couple that I know that are on the table that are like, ‘Wow, that’s what they need.’”
On what his signing means: “By me joining the company I think fans, and wrestlers most importantly think, ‘holy shit, if Jericho went there this is the real deal.’ And yes, the television deals that are being talked about, once again nothing is set in stone, but if it’s one of the three that I know people will go okay this is the real deal.”
