Christian Says He and Edge Were Originally Supposed to Reunite in 2011

– Christian revealed in a new interview that he and Edge were supposed to reunite as a tag team in 2011 before Edge’s retirement made that impossible. The WWE star spoke with WrestleTalk and revealed that the tag team were originally set to go on another tag team run after Elimination Chamber.

“I think the plan was at the time for Edge to lose the title to Del Rio and then he and I would rekindle out tag team and go on a run with that and eventually split off and feud,” Christian told host Luke Owen. Unfortunately, Edge’s neck injuries forced his retirement and thus ended the chances of their teaming together again. Christian would go on to have a brief run with the World Heavyweight Championship amidst a feud with Randy Orton and eventually retire in 2014.
