411’s LIVE WWE Smackdown Report 5.21.15

*Welcome, WWE Smackdown tonight is in Norfolk, Virginia.

*We open with a video package from Monday night recapping the Architect of a Dream segment with Ambrose getting his title match against Rollins at Elimination Chamber.

*Roman Reigns is out to a big pop, we get a quick recap of the WWE Payback Fatal Four Way before Roman takes the mic. Roman thanks the fans for the big pop and says he has some bad news: he didn’t win at Payback. He also has good news: he had a really good time at Payback. He says anytime you punch Seth Rollins in the mouth is a good time, plus The Shield hit a triple powerbomb and he got to fight his bro, Dean Ambrose. He says he’ll never have a fair fight with Rollins’ because his little tiny security guards are always around. Roman’s all for punching them in the face, but he has to think with his head, not his fist. Roman announces that he’s entering the Money in the Bank ladder match, and he’s going to win. You can believe that. Dean Ambrose’s music hits and the Lunatic Fringe comes down to the ring. Dean apologizes for interrupting Roman. He said he heard the words Payback and took a wrong turn at catering and ended up in the ring. Dean says he heard Roman talk about the Money in the Bank match and says this year he won’t be reaching for an opportunity to be champion, because he’ll already be WWE Champion. Roman says he hopes so and gives Dean respect for how he got his title match against Seth. He pleads with Dean to think of an exit strategy and here comes Kane! Kane agrees with Roman and gives Dean credit as well, but adds that his strategy ended with Seth standing tall after a Pedigree. He says he got one over on the Authority, but in the end, the Authority always wins. Roman asks how Kane how he even knows if they win, because he’s always on his back. Kane says Roman is not in the Money in the Bank match. He says it’s based on fact, and Roman lost at Wrestlemania and Payback. He says Roman has earned his spot at the back of the line. Kane says the only way he gets another shot is if Roman proves he’s deserved it to him. Ambrose interrupts and calls Kane a Justin Bieber Groupie. He says Kane used to be a brother of destruction and now he’s a red-headed stepchild of the Authority. He asks if Kane eats from a bowl like the lap dog that he is. Kane threatens Ambrose to never mention his family again. Kane books Ambrose in a match with Bray Wyatt for our main event. Ambrose yells BINGO and says that’s exactly what he wanted, he has unfinished business and he’s gonna take care of it. Kane says he has no plans for Roman and he gives him the night off to reflect on his failures. He suggests Roman finds ways to grow as a complete superstar. Roman says he’ll go to catering and asks if Ambrose if they have cheesecake, which Ambrose confirms. He says he’s going to watch the show and make sure Kane does everything that is best for business. Believe that.

*Back from break, we get Titus O’Neil being recognized as “Celebrity Mega-Dad of the Year” and Prime Time Players doing their dance with a kid from the crowd. They do the dance with Jerry Lawler as well for our first match.

*The Ascension vs Tyson Kidd & Cesaro vs Los Matadores vs Lucha Dragons

New Day and PTP are on commentary for this match. Xavier Woods brought out “clapping gloves” for the commentary team. Sin Cara and Kidd start the match and they chain into a Gory Special by Sin Cara, which he turns into a backslide, but he keeps the wrists locked and Kidd starts to kind of climb up Sin Cara in a spot that is very weird to describe, but Kidd reverses the backslide into a sunset flip for a quick count. Arm drag and armbar by Kidd before Viktor tags Sin Cara. He takes over quickly with a few strikes before Fernando tags himself in to go against Kidd. Kidd goes for the sharpshooter, but is distracted by El Torito hitting a sunset flip on Natalya on the outside. Fernando dropkicks Kidd into the second rope and tags in Diego who is almost immediately tagged by Konnor. Konnor hits a nice Dominator-DDT move as we go to commercial.

Back from break, Kidd breaks a sleeper by Konnor, but Konnor knocks Cesaro off the apron. Kidd is able to fight back and stumble into Sin Cara who comes in with a senton to take out Konnor before going to work with some kicks. Konnor tosses him against the ropes, but he ducks a clothesline and hits a springboard crossbody. Konnor whips Sin Cara into the corner with Viktor, but Sin Cara knocks him off the apron and hits a moonsault armdrag and a springboard elbow. Sin Cara goes for the Lionsault, but Konnor gets the knees up and tags in Viktor. Viktor stomps away a bit before tagging Konnor back in as that hit the former H Bomb on Sin Cara. Viktor tags right back in and goes for a cover, but Kalisto breaks it up, only to take a Tiger Bomb from Viktor. Fernando tags himself in and goes to cover Kalisto, who I don’t think ever tagged in. Fernando yells at Viktor and they get into a brawl while Konnor and Diego go to the floor. Viktor goes for a back body drop on Sin Cara but he flips over and stumbles backwards into Cesaro who tags in now to face Viktor. Belly to belly by Cesaro followed by five corner uppercuts and a spinebuster. Cesaro and Kidd hits the big swing/dropkick combo after a tag to Kidd, but Diego tags Kidd and tosses him out of the ring to try and steal the pin. Cesaro double stomps Diego to break it up but then takes a big boot from Konnor, who takes a hurricanrana from Fernando. Kalisto tags in now and hits the tornillo and the hurricanrana facebuster for two as it’s broken up by Diego and Konnor. Konnor tosses out Diego and goes after Tyson Kidd who ducks a clothesline and hits the flipping suicide dive on Diego. Cesaro clotheslines Konnor over the top rope, but then he’s sent outside by the Lucha Dragons. Sin Cara hits a big plancha onto everybody outside the ring. Kalisto was about to join him, but he’s rolled up by Fernando for two. Fernando tries to slingshot Kalisto into the turnbuckle, but Kalisto lands on the middle rope and jumps back into a hurricanrana for the win.

Winners: Lucha Dragons

*We get a recap of Rusev dumping Lana on Raw, followed by Lana kissing Dolph Ziggler and Rusev attacking Ziggler. Lana slapped Rusev and Ziggler hit a Zig Zag to end that segment. We see Rusev’s response from the WWE app. He says he’s going to rip off Ziggler’s arm and eat his American heart. Renee is standing by with Ziggler and he says he tried to get revenge on Sheamus and got stitches for it, and then when he’s told he’s in the Elimination Chamber, Lana comes and kisses him. He says he’s no stranger to beautiful women coming up to him and kissing him. He says it’s the first time he’s had to be locked in a chamber with a crazy ex boyfriend and then focuses on his match tonight with King Barrett, he calls it the week that keeps on giving. Lana appears and wishes Dolph good luck and he asks Renee to give them a second. He says he knows she was making Rusev jealous and that Rusev needs to respect women. Ziggler says he knows the game she’s playing, and he’s okay with it.

*Dolph Ziggler vs King Barrett

Barrett makes his way to the ring as we go to commercial. Back from break as Ziggler makes his way to the ring. They start with a lock up and Ziggler takes down Barrett with a roll up for a one count. Ziggler uses his amateur skills again for another quick roll up. Ziggler goes into a waistlock but is backed into the corner and elbowed by Barrett who goes to work with shots in the corner and a headbutt. Ziggler hits a jawbreaker and an elbow before sending a charging Barrett shoulder first into the corner. Ziggler hits a dropkick, a corner splash and a neckbreaker before hitting another elbow drop for a two count. Barrett in the corner, elbows Ziggler as he goes for another splash and hits a tornado snap suplex that is a pretty decent looking move. Barrett gets a two count as we go to commercial.

We come back from break with Ziggler fighting out of a sleeper hold and hitting a dropkick before missing a splash in the corner. Barrett hits Wasteland, but Ziggler kicks out at two and rolls out of the ring while Barrett argues with the ref. Barrett heads outside and rams Ziggler back first into the apron and throws him into the barricade, then slams his head on the announce table before rolling him into the ring. Barrett yells something at Lawler and goes into the ring, but Ziggler rolls him up for two. Two superkicks from Barrett get a two count. Barrett turns his elbow pad inside out and goes for the Bullhammer, but Ziggler hits a superkick to the arm of Barrett. Ziggler charges, but Barrett tosses him up into the air. Ziggler lands on his feet and Barrett charges with another Bullhammer, but Ziggler ducks and hits the Zig Zag for the three.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler

*Lana is shown on the stage cheering on Dolph Ziggler after the win.

*A recap is shown of Naomi vs Nikki Bella from Raw and Paige saving Nikki from the assault by Naomi and Tamina before laying out Nikki with the Rampaige. Paige is on her way to the ring as we go to commercial.

*Paige comes out to a big ovation. She gets on the mic and says it’s good to be back, she says she won the divas battle royal for a shot at the Divas Championship, but it was short lived, she shows us how Naomi took her out of action and says that’s when Naomi finally became relevant. She said she has a weird admiration for Naomi because she saw what she wanted and took it. She said she found a boyfriend along the way in Tamina. She asks if Tamina is competing in the wrong division. Paige says she’s fully recovered and Naomi took what was hers. She says it’s her division, that is her championship, and this is her house. Out come Naomi and Tamina to the ring. Naomi says Paige doesn’t understand where she is in the pecking order. Naomi says her natural athleticism means she deserves to be at the top of the division. She says Paige is only good at screaming, and that she doesn’t know what it’s like to be overlooked and under appreciated. She says Paige never earned her first title shot, and Naomi says you can’t wait for opportunities, you have to stand up and take them. She says she removed Pagie from the equation. Paige says in one year she’s accomplished more than Tamina and Naomi have in their whole careers. Paige says Naomi has to have personality and she has none, but she’s full of excuses. Paige mocks Naomi and tells her to shut up, get over it and get over herself. Naomi says she’s about to push over and run over Paige and every diva. She says Paige calls this her house, well she and Tamina are about to clean house and they run into the ring. Paige starts the ground and pound on Naomi, but the numbers are too much. Nikki Bella runs down and chases them out of the ring, but she tries to go after them as they go up the ramp, but Nikki trips and botches the take down. She rolls Naomi back in the ring where Paige hits a big boot, Nikki takes out Tamina and Paige tries for a Rampaige, but Nikki hits a big forearm and the Rack Attack to stand tall with the Divas Championship.

*Bray Wyatt talks about people treating so called lunatics of being evil, saying perhaps they were possessed by demons. He says these days these claims are looked down upon, as if they were outrageous, but they were right. Demons are all around us and exist in us all and tonight he’ll prove to Dean Ambrose that Ambrose’s inner demons march to Bray’s command. He says Ambrose is in his way.

*As Truth is coming out, we get a graphic showing a triple threat match for the Divas Championship at Elimination Chamber: Naomi vs Nikki vs Paige.

*Stardust vs R-Truth

Stardust is already in the ring as Truth comes down. Stardust takes control early with a gut kick and some strikes until Truth hits a hiptoss and Stardust rolls to the apron. Guillotine and a dropkick by Stardust get a one count. Cross Arm choke hold by Stardust before he throws Truth onto the mat. Stomp on the head by Stardust, followed by a short arm clothesline and another punch to the head. Stardust locks in the cross arm choke again. Truth fights out and hits a few strikes before Stardust reverses a suplex and hits the Disaster Kick for a two count. Stardust hits Dark Matter, but Truth kicks out at two. Stardust throws down a glove and punches Truth in the corner. Stardust decides to pick up his glove, so Truth kicks him and grabs it himself. He tosses Stardust’s glove into the air and when Stardust tries to catch it, he hits the Lil Jimmy for the win.

Winner: R-Truth

*Renee is backstage with Ryback. He says he’s never been in the Chamber and says it’s intimidating. He’s chomping at the bits to step inside. He compares himself to a starving lion surrounded by five deer. He says he’d like to deliver a message to the other guys in the match, the Big Guy is hungry. When people are hungry they say “Feed Me More.” He comes back to share vegan recipes with Renee Young. Apparently Ryback is quite the cook. We go to commercial.

He said one day the bird flew too high and hit a power line, hurting its wing. He said it could never fly again. He nursed the bird back to health and the bird was able to fly away. He say Neville has a broken wing and Bo is trying to make him stronger. One day, with Bo’s help, Neville will overcome adversity. All he has to do, is Bo-Lieve.

*Dean Ambrose vs Bray Wyatt

He does some legbreakers and a dragon screw before setting Bray up in the corner with his leg propped up on the second rope. Ambrose hits the ropes, but Bray meets him with a clothesline.
