I hear that the Peyton Royce/Ember Moon match is cut from the USA Network version I’m watching. That’s unfortunate.

The show opens with highlights of Andrade Almas winning the NXT Title and Drew McIntyre’s injury. Then, the singles matches to qualify for the Number One Contender’s Fatal Four Way were highlighted. Killian Dain beat Trent Seven and Johnny Gargano beat Kassius Ohno. Tonight, Adam Cole faces Aleister Black.

Non-Title Match: NXT Champion Andrade Almas w/ Zelina Vega vs. Fabian Aichner

Almas comes out hot, exploding with a dropkick. He taunts and runs into a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Almas regroups outside, so Aichner launches himself out with a huge springboard plancha. Inside, he springboards into a tornado DDT for a near fall. Almas chops him but leaps and gets caught. Aichner hits a stiff powerbomb for two. Almas sends him outside and into the steel steps. Almas nails the Hammerlock DDT inside to win.

Winner: Andrade Almas in 2:14

An Aleister Black vignette runs to hype tonight’s main event.

A special look at Ember Moon’s is shown. Several Superstars, including Carmella and Charlotte, say kind words. It culminates with her winning the NXT Women’s Title.

The Authors of Pain w/ Paul Ellering vs. Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan

Burch starts with Akam and fires off European uppercuts. Tag to Oney, who lights him up with chops. Rezar runs in, but also gets slapped a bunch. He and Burch take it to both AOP members and hit some running strikes in the corner until Rezar lays out Burch with a clothesline and Akam plants Lorcan with a corner DVD. Super Collider hits and Lorcan eats the Last Chapter to end this.

Next week, Pete Dunne vs. Tyler Bate III for the UK Championship. Also, SAnitY defend the Tag Team Titles against Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly.

SAnitY get promo time outside somewhere. Alexander Wolfe’s staples are focused, while Nikki Cross laughs a lot and Dain looms in the background. Eric Young called War Games what they wanted but next week, they will finish what they started in Houston.

An Adam Cole vignette airs.

Number One Contender’s Fatal Four Way Qualifying Match: Adam Cole vs. Aleister Black

Cole sends Kyle and Bobby to the back before the match. They exchange arm wringers, headlock and headscissors. Cole gets free and taunts before they go back at it. Cole toys with Black and taunts again. He gets shut up by a series of strikes and knees from Black. Cole heads outside and Black sits in the middle of the ring heading into a commercial. Returning, Cole takes Black to the mat and applies a cross face. Black can’t escape, so he makes it to the ropes. Cole yells at him to stay down as he stomps away. “YOU’LL NEVER BE ME” shouts Cole before taunting again. Black stands, catches a kick and fires off some of his own. Black continues his hot run, hitting a quebrada and going for the Black Mass. Cole avoids it and snapmares Black on the ropes. He comes off the top into a kick for a near fall. Enziguri by Cole and a backstabber gets two. Black slips behind Cole, who blocks a rollup. Black kicks him in the leg and they begin trading strikes. Cole hits a superkick but Black rolls him into a pin for two. Cole gets him on his shoulders and hits a neckbreaker on the knee for a near fall. Black comes back with a bicycle knee and toys with him as he lifts him for Black Mass. Cole shouts “WHAT DO YA GOT?” and was hit with Black Mass to end it.

Winner: Aleister Black in 7:06 [**1/2]
