Welcome to 411’s WWE SummerSlam 2017 Report. We are LIVE in my adopted hometown of Boston, Massachusetts.

Tonight’s Kickoff Show panel is Renee Young, Sam Roberts, and David Otunga. Kayla Braxton is in the Social Media Lounge where the New Day will be her guests later in the Kickoff Show. We start off with a video package for AJ Styles vs. Jinder Mahal. Roberts and Otunga both pick Styles to retain.

We move on to a video package for Baron Corbin vs. Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler. Roberts picks Roode, but Otunga picks Corbin. Next up is a video package for Breezango vs. The Bludgeon Brothers. The panel unanimously picks the Bludgeon Brothers to destroy Breezango. We follow that with a video package for Charlotte Flair vs. Natalya. Charlotte joins the panel to discuss the match, but Natalya soon interrupts them and promises that she’ll be taking the title home tonight.

We head back to the Social Media Lounge where Kayla Braxton has been joined by the New Day. The New Day remind us that this is the fifth anniversary of Big E debuting on the main roster, but they refuse to give away their strategy for tonight’s Fatal 4-Way match. Roberts picks Rusev and English in an upset, but Otunga picks the Usos to retain.


Kickoff Show Match
Zack Ryder vs. Mojo Rawley

Ryder charges straight at Rawley and drags him out of the ring. Ryder continues the assault on the outside, but Rawley slams Ryder’s lower back into the ring apron. The action returns to the ring, and Rawley catches Ryder with a spinebuster. Rawley locks in a rear chin lock before whipping Ryder to the corner. Rawley charges at Ryder in the corner but eats a pair of knees. Ryder heads up top, but Rawley shoves him to the outside. Rawley heads to the outside and shoulder tackles Ryder into the barricade as we head to a commercial. We return from the break with Rawley firmly in control of Ryder in the middle of the ring. Rawley locks in a rear chin lock and drags Ryder down to the mat. Ryder fights back to his feet and breaks the hold with a chin breaker. Ryder charges at Rawley, but Rawley levels him with a big boot. Rawley drags Ryder back to his feet, but Ryder catches him with a back elbow shot. Ryder hits a flying clothesline and a forearm smash in the corner. Ryder connects with two Broski Boots and makes the cover, but Rawley gets his foot on the ropes to break the count. Rawley regains control with a chop block and follows up with a vicious forearm smash in the corner for the three count.

Match Result: Mojo Rawley defeats Zack Ryder with a corner forearm smash.

Triple Threat Match for the United States Championship
Baron Corbin (Champion) vs. Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler

Roode and Ziggler double team Corbin to start and stomp him down to the mat in the corner. The action spills out of the ring, and Roode and Ziggler clothesline Corbin over the barricade. Roode and Ziggler return to the ring where Roode catches Ziggler with a side Russian leg sweep. Roode rolls out of the ring and eats a clothesline from Corbin. Corbin rolls Roode back into the ring and clotheslines him in the corner. Corbin whips Roode to the opposite corner and drives a shoulder into his lower back. Corbin heads to the outside and drives Ziggler’s lower back into the barricade. Corbin returns his attention to Roode in the ring and hits him with a sidewalk slam. Corbin makes the cover, but Ziggler flies into the ring to break up the pin. Roode gets back to his feet and levels Corbin with a clothesline. Roode heads up to the second turnbuckle and hits Corbin with a blockbuster for a two count. Ziggler goes for the Zig Zag, but Roode grabs the top rope to block. Ziggler hits the Fameasser and covers Roode, but Corbin breaks up the pin. Ziggler drop kicks Corbin, but Corbin fights back with a Deep Six to Roode for a two count. Corbin takes Roode up top, but Roode knocks him back down to the mat. Ziggler leaps up top to meet Roode, and Corbin slides underneath Ziggler for a powerbomb / suplerplex Tower of Doom. Corbin charges Ziggler in the corner, but Ziggler sides steps him, causing Corbin to post himself and tumble out of the ring. Ziggler goes for Sweet Chin Music on Roode, but Roode counters in a spinebuster. Roode goes for the Glorious DDT, but Ziggler counters into the Satellite DDT for a two count. Ziggler again goes for Sweet Chin Music, but Roode blocks and catapults Ziggler into the corner. Roode hits the Glorious DDT on Ziggler, dumps Corbin out of the ring, and covers Ziggler, but Corbin pulls Roode out of the ring. Roode his Roode with Deep Six on the outside and rolls him back into the ring. Corbin sets up Roode for the End of Days, but Ziggler suddenly hits Corbin with the Zig Zag for the three count.

Match Result: Dolph Ziggler defeats Baron Corbin with the Zig Zag.

Fatal 4-Way Match for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship
The Usos (Champions) vs. The New Day vs. Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable vs. Rusev & Aiden English

It’ll be Kofi Kingston and Big E for the New Day. One member of each team will be legal at all times. It’s Kingston, English, Gable, and Jey Uso to start. All four men trade rapid near falls before making the tags to the partners. Big E tosses Kingston over the top rope and onto several of their opponents on the outside. Jimmy Uso heads up top and looks to dive to the outside, but Benjamin leaps up top and dumps Jimmy back down to the mat. Kingston gets the tag but eats a side kick from Rusev. Gable gets the tag from Benjamin as English gets the tag from Rusev. English works over Jimmy in the corner as Gable locks in an overhead arm key lock on Kingston. Benjamin gets the tag and suplexes Kingston. Rusev gets the tag and kicks Jimmy in the side of the head. Gable gets the tag and stomps a mud hole in Kingston in the corner. Benjamin and English get the tags and keep up the assault on Kingston and Jimmy. English suplexes Jimmy and makes the cover, but Benjamin breaks up the pin. Rusev dumps Jimmy to the outside and tags English. English heads to the outside as Benjamin and Gable level Kingston with double knee shots. Kingston tries to tag Big E, but Benjamin pulls Big E off the apron to avoid the tag. Jey and Big E FINALLY get the hot tags and clean house. Jey hits a running hip attack on Gable in the corner as Big E splashes English in the middle of the ring. Jey and Big E slug it out in the middle of the ring before the Usos clean house with a super kick party. Gable locks in a Texas Cloverleaf on Jey, but Rusev breaks up the hold with a kick to the back of the head. Rusev locks in the Accolade on Gable, but Big E makes the save. Big E goes for the Big Ending on Rusev, but Rusev floats over. Rusev hits the Machka Kick on Big E but only gets a two count. Rusev locks in the Accolade on Big E, but Gable makes the save and hits Rusev with a German suplex. Gable hits Big E with a sick German and goes for another German on one of the Usos, but he counters with a super kick and sets up the other Uso for a top rope Samoan Splash for the three count.

Match Result: The Usos defeats Chad Gable with a super kick / Samoan Splash combination.

Lumberjack Match for the Smackdown Women’s Championship
Charlotte Flair (Champion) vs. Natalya

Flair catches Natalya with a rear waist lock, but Natalya breaks the hold with a back elbow shot. Flair dumps Natalya to the outside, but Naomi rolls her back into the ring. Natalya dumps Flair to the outside, and several of the lumberjacks attack her before rolling her back into the ring. Flair charges Natalya in the corner, but Natalya side steps her and shoves her face-first into the second turnbuckle. Natalya kicks Flair to the outside, and the Riott Squad work her over before rolling her back into the ring. Natalya slaps Flair and locks in a rear chin lock on the mat. Natalya stomps on the back of Flair’s neck and hits a basement drop kick to the face. Natalya chokes Flair across the second rope but misses another basement drop kick and slide to the outside. Natalya heads back into the ring but eats a volley of chops from Flair. Flair hits a backbreaker and tosses Natalya into the corner. Flair heads up top and sets up for a moonsault, but Natalya pulls her back down to the mat. Natalya goes for the Sharpshooter, but Flair rolls her up for a quick two count. Flair goes for the Figure Eight, but Natalya kicks her to the outside. The lumberjacks go after Flair, but Naomi makes the save with a springboard splash to the outside onto the lumberjacks. Flair rolls back into the ring, but Natalya locks in the Sharpshooter. Flair finally makes it to the ropes to break the hold, but he lumberjacks pull her out of the ring. The lumberjacks beat down Flair and roll her back into the ring. Carmella grabs the MitB briefcase and heads into the ring, but the Riott Squad charge the ring and dump Carmella to the outside. The lumberjacks brawl at ringside, and Flair takes them all out with a moonsault from the top to the outside. Natalya rolls Flair back into the ring and goes for the Sharpshooter, but Flair counters into the Figure Eight for the submission.

Match Result: Charlotte Flair defeats Natalya with the Figure Eight.
Match Length: 10:36

Tag Team Match
Breezango vs. The Bludgeon Brothers

It’s Breeze and Rowan to start, and Breeze lands a quick kick to Rowan before making the tag to Fandango. The action spills to the outside, but Harper levels Breeze with a big boot. Rowan rolls Fandango back into the ring before teaming with Harper to dump Breeze face-first onto the ring apron. Harper and Rowan head into the ring and hit Fandango with the double crucifix powerbomb for the three count.

Match Result: Rowan pins Fandango after a double crucifix powerbomb.

Tag Team Match
Randy Orton & Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn
Special Guest Referees: Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan

Orton and Zayn start the match, and Orton quickly muscles Zayn to the corner. Orton catches Zayn in a standing side head lock and takes Zayn down to the mat. Orton locks in an arm wringer and drags Zayn to the corner. Nakamura makes the tag, but Zayn locks in an arm wringer of his own on Nakamura. Owens gets the tag and works over Nakamura in the corner. Nakamura retaliates with a snap mare takedown and hits a knee drop to the face. Orton gets the tag and slams Owens’ face into the top turnbuckle. McMahon and Bryan decide that they’ll split the ring down the middle and each referee the action on their half of the ring. Zayn gets the tag and cheap shots Orton in the corner. Zayn chops the chest, but Orton fights back with a European uppercut. Owens and Zayn trade quick covers as they continue to work over Orton. Zayn goes for a suplex, but Orton counters and dumps Zayn gut-first onto the top rope. Zayn makes the tag to Owens, and Owens prevents Orton from tagging Nakamura. Owens locks in a rear chin lock before making the tag back to Zayn. Zayn chokes Orton across the second rope, but Orton hits a belly-to-back suplex to create distance. Zayn tags Owens, but Orton FINALLY makes the hot tag to Nakamura. Nakamura goes to work with kicks to the chest and knee shots to the ribs. Nakamura hits a running knee shot in the corner and follows up with Good Vibrations. Nakamura connects with his patented elevated corner knee shot and gets a two count. Nakamura heads up top, but Owens pulls him off the turnbuckle and goes for a powerbomb, but Nakamura rolls through into a modified triangle. McMahon checks to see if Owens is going to submit, but Bryan sees that Nakamura’s shoulders are down and makes a two count. Zayn gets the tag and hits the Blue Thunder Bomb before making the tag back to Owens. Owens goes for a running senton, but Nakamura gets his knees up. Orton and Zayn get the tags, and Orton hits a modified fall away slam. Zayn heads up top, but Orton knocks his legs out from under him. Orton heads up top and hits superplex, but Owens pulls Orton out of the ring and whips him into the ring steps. Nakamura and Owens brawl on the outside, but Zayn makes the save. McMahon and Bryan head to the outside to try to regain control of the match. Owens and Zayn prep two of the announce tables. Zayn sets Nakamura on one table, and Owens hits a bullfrog splash off one table through Nakamura and the second table. Orton and Zayn head back into the ring and Orton hits his patented rope-assisted DDT. Orton hits the RKO and McMahon starts to make the count, but Owens shoves Bryan onto McMahon. McMahon berates Bryan, and Orton looks like he might RKO Bryan. Owens tries to save Bryan, but Orton RKOs Owens. Orton and Zayn trade roll-up near falls, and McMahon refuses to make a count for Zayn. Zayn rolls up Orton, and Bryan makes a fast three count. McMahon tries to break the count, but Bryan counted so fast that McMahon couldn’t make the save.

Match Result: Sami Zayn defeats Randy Orton with a roll-up pin.

WWE Championship Match
AJ Styles (Champion) vs. Jinder Mahal w/ The Singh Brothers

Styles takes the fight to Mahal to start, but Mahal muscles Styles to the corner. Styles catches Mahal in a rear waist lock, but Mahal breaks the hold with a back elbow shot. Mahal calls for a test of strength, but Styles goes after the leg and chases Mahal out of the ring. Styles takes out the leg on the outside before rolling Mahal back into the ring. Styles works over the leg in the middle of the ring, but Mahal rights back and dumps Styles onto the top rope. Styles bounces off the top rope and tumbles to the outside. Styles uses the barricade to pull himself back to his feet. Mahal heads to the outside and pulls Styles off the barricade, but Styles pulls the padding off the barricade in the process. Mahal whips Styles into the barricade, and Styles’ ribs slam into the exposed barricade steel. Mahal drags Styles back into the ring, works him over, and dumps him back to the outside. Mahal drops Styles ribs-first onto the announce table before rolling Styles back into the ring and locking in a modified Camel Clutch. Mahal releases the Camel Clutch and locks in a body scissors. Mahal switches to an abdominal stretch and then drives a shoulder into Styles’ ribs in the corner. Mahal heads up to the second rope and connects with a diving chop. Mahal goes for a second diving chop, but Styles counters with a mid-air drop kick. Styles goes for the Phenomenal Forearm, but Mahal knocks the ropes, causing Styles to fall ribs-first onto the top rope. Mahal hits a gut buster and gets a long two count. Mahal takes Styles up top and goes for a superplex, but Styles slides under and hits an electric chair drop. Styles levels Mahal with a clothesline and follows up with a low clothesline. Styles hits a corner forearm shot followed by the ushigoroshi for a two count. Mahal drops Styles onto his ribs, but Styles fights back with a Northern Lights suplex for a two count. Styles goes for a low forearm shot, but Mahal gets his boots up to block. Mahal follows up with a Samoan Drop but only gets a two count. Styles hits the Pelé kick, but Mahal blocks a tornado DDT and lands a side kick to the face for another two count. Mahal goes for a super Khallas, but Styles counters with a Pelé kick to the top. Styles hits the springboard 450 splash but has trouble making the pin. The Singh Brothers try to drag Mahal out of the ring, but Styles heads to the outside to neutralize them. Styles goes for the Phenomenal Forearm, but Mahal ducks and counters with a running knee to the back. Mahal hits the Khallas, but Styles kicks out at two. Mahal sets up for the Styles Clash, but Styles counters into the Calf Crusher. Mahal rolls toward the ropes, but Styles rolls with him and maintains the hold. Styles has Mahal locked up in the middle of the ring, and Mahal has no choice but to tap.

Match Result: AJ Styles defeats Jinder Mahal with the Calf Crusher.
