CM Punk Mocks Smackdown Jeff Hardy Segment, Is Glad He Doesn’t ‘Take It So Seriously Anymore’
– Former WWE Superstar CM Punk took aim at last night’s opening segment for Friday Night Smackdown, where Jeff Hardy was “arrested” on suspicion for hitting Elias with his rental car and possibly driving under the influence. WWE later revealed that Hardy was released from custody after passing his sobriety tests.
During the Smackdown broadcast, CM Punk took to Twitter to mock and make fun of the segment, where a police officer was investigating the rental car. Punk wrote on Twitter, “LOLOLOL AT THE COP SNIFFING THE FULL BEER BOTTLE THAT DIDNT GET SPILLED THEN SAYING “JEFF HARDY” LIKE HES CALLING BINGO NUMBERS. IM DYYYYYYYING.” You can view his tweet below.
Punk continued to respond to fan comments on the segment, joking that the wrestler portraying the police officer “deserves a Slammy.”
Later on, Richard Jewell star Paul Walter Hauser asked Punk on Twitter if watching that segment made him want to wrestle again. Punk later replied, “Currently divided. The country is on fire and it legit made me laugh out loud for a second so, entertained? Mission accomplished? I’m happy I don’t take it so seriously anymore.”
As previously noted, Punk is slated to return in his analyst role for WWE Backstage next week. The show will air on Tuesday at 11:00 pm EST on FS1.
