WWE News: Backstage Discussion Over Controversial Jinder Mahal Promo & Poor WWE Smackdown Attendance, Changes Made to Last Night’s Women’s Match
September 20, 2017 | Posted by
– There was a lot of talk/concern backstage about the poor attendance at WWE Smackdown last night. There was also a lot of discussion about Jinder Mahal’s promo, where he referred to Shinsuke Nakamura as “Mr. Miyagi,” leading to the fans chanting “that’s too far.” WWE has not posted a Youtube highlight for that segment, perhaps because it has sparked some controversy on Twitter and other social media outlets, where some fans believed the segment was racist.
– Last night’s WWE Smackdown women’s match was originally scheduled to be a triple threat match (Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch vs. Naomi). The decision was made late in the day to add Tamina to the match.
