– Follow all of my reviews at this link.

– My latest XPLOSION review is here.

– My Impact vs. Lucha Underground review is here.

– My review of last week’s show is here.

– We open up with Aries talking about that walking piece of shit Patron no showing last week in New Orleans, he’s gone from the company, and we now have a better Redemption main event in Aries vs. Pentagon vs. Fenix.

ELI DRAKE TALKS: Last week, Drake beat Moose, and due to that win, now holds the Tag Title & World Title briefcases. He says he was wrong about the tag title shot, since his partner left the company. But he made a deal, and then won the world title case. Even when he loses, he wins. He now has the chance to win two titles. LAX arrives and Konnan wants to know who Drake’s partner at Redemption is. Drake says it’s someone Konnan ran with and a former world champion. It’s Scott Steiner. Post break, and Steiner says that Konnan looks like he’s seen a ghost. He runs down his credentials, noting that he’s world famous; that’s what Drake calls him. They will take the titles, kick ass, and he will prove he has a short fuse and the largest arms in the universe. Konnan says that Steiner may not show up or even kick Drake’s ass. Steiner asks if Steiner still has it, or just here for a payday. Konnan says he doesn’t have the passion and doesn’t look like he still has it. Drake runs down Konnan, and says they are coming for the tag titles. This was a fine opening segment, setting up another PPV match. I don’t have high hopes as Steiner didn’t look good over Mania weekend, so it will have to be a lot of Drake & LAX, and together, they may be enough to save it. I hope that they can pull it off.

– They discuss the Mania weekend show and new Redemption main event of Champion Aries vs. Pentagon vs. Fenix.

– We go old school with Rosemary vs. Jade in a steel cage match.

Moose vs. Sami Callihan: This was set up last week, and is part of Sami’s feud with Edwards. Moose runs wild at the bell. He lays in chops, takes off his glove and Sami bails. Moose follows him out and lays in more chops. It’s all Moose as he works over Sami on the floor. Back in and Sami cuts him off with an enziguri and lariat. The suicide dive follows. Moose cuts him off with an apron bomb, taking control back. He looks for another and hits it. Back in and Sami hits a knee strike, but Moose hits a bicycle kick. Sami counters the game changer and hits a low blow. Post break, and Moose is battling back but gets cut off, and Sami covers for 2. Sami follows with strikes, but Moose fires up again and hits a dropkick. Sami avoids a charge, and Sami hits a face wash. Moose hits a pop up powerbomb and senton, covering for 2. Moose then hits go to hell for a good near fall. Moose takes him up top, lays in strikes and follows him up. Sami bites Moose, and hits the Cheeky Nandos and powerbomb. Moose battles back, hitting a lariat but Sami gets the bat. He hits Moose for the DQ. Moose defeated Sami Callihan @ 14:10 via DQ [**¾] The match was pretty good, but way mainly a story device to get to setting up another PPV match. Moose & Edwards bringing in Dreamer can be looked at as looking to fight fire with fire by going hardcore with Dreamer, which I suppose is fine, but doesn’t exactly excite me. It’s amazing that Dreamer maintains a good relationship with WWE, had a big ROH PPV match last year and is now getting one with Impact.

– Post match, oVe & Edwards hit the ring. They all brawl and Alisha arrives to beg off and save Eddie. Sami threatens her, lights out, and Tommy Dreamer is here. Dreamer runs wild with kendo stick shots and piledrives Sami. Dreamer says he’s been fighting wars, and he has soldiers, and challenges them to a house of hardcore match at Redemption.

– Mathews cuts a promo about stepping into he ring tonight. He runs down Petey for costing them titles. He promises to destroy the Canadian destroyer.

Josh Mathews vs. Petey Williams: Sydal is out with Mathews. Lots of stalling from Mathews to begin. He then runs from Petey. Sydal distracts Petey, and Mathews attacks, but then runs away. We get a Scooby Doo chase, and back in, Mathews begs off. Sydal distracts Petey again, allowing Mathews to attack. Petey fights back and locks on the sharpshooter. Sydal again distracts Petey, but Petey takes him out until Mathews attacks. Sydal attacks and we finally get a DQ Petey Williams defeated Josh Mathews @ 4:05 via DQ [DUD] As a match, this was absolute trash. But it was a solid enough post match angle to get some heat on Sydal heading into the PPV.

– Post match, Sydal beats Petey down and lays him out.

– We get a Cage video package.

– Johnny Impact is interviewed backstage. He comments on Kong & Jacobs, and runs down their makeup. Kong & Jacobs arrive. Jacobs says Impact doesn’t get it and Kong will ruin him. Impact says he’s not amused, and sets up a match for next week.

– We get highlights from last week, setting up the six-man tag, which is up next.

– Just announced…

KM, Lee, & Konley vs. Justice, Bahh, & Tyrus: Bahh and lee to begin. Bahh controls early on, using his size advantage. He hits the steamroller and tags in Justice. He lays on jabs on Lee, and the straps are down. KM in and he eats jabs. Lee cheap shots him and that allows KM to take control. Lee tags in and takes him down, and Konley tags in. He continues to isolate Justice, grounding the action. Justice dumps Lee and Tyrus gets the hot tag and tosses KM around a bit. The corner splash follows and then the big ending gets 2 and it breaks down. The faces take control and Justice hits a, well, falling splash off of the apron I guess. Tyrus chokes out KM, tags in Bahh and the banzai drop follows for the win. Justice, Bahh, & Tyrus defeated KM, Lee, & Konley @ 5:35 via pin [*½] This was not very good at all, but the babyfaces beat the bullies, and hopefully we can move on.

Demon’s Dance: Rosemary vs. Taya: They previously faced in a good match that went to a no contest. It was a continuation of a feud that was supposed to peak at BFG, but never happened due to Taya’s travel issues. This is an anything goes match and they start out properly, bawling with good aggression. They battle up the ramp, they tease finisher son the stage, but Rosemary tosses Taya down the ramp. Taya cuts off Rosemary, slamming her to the barricade. Taya brings in chairs, takes down Rosemary and sets a chair in front of her and hits the running double knees. Taya continues to attack, using chair shots and covering for 2. Rosemary fires back with kicks and hits a sling blade onto a chair. Rosemary grabs a ladder, slides it in and sets it up in the corner. Rosemary looks for a suplex, but Taya cuts her off, hitting a suplex for 2. She follows with kicks, but Rosemary slams her into the ladder. Rosemary now gets a table, sets it up and then works over Taya, but misses a charge and runs into the chair in the corner; Taya covers for 2. Taya lays Rosemary on the table, and heads up top but Rosemary cuts her off. They both work up top now, Rosemary looks for red wedding, but Taya fights her off. They continue to battle up top and Rosemary PILEDRIVES TAYA through the table for the win. Rosemary defeated Taya @ 10:10 via pin [***] This was a good back and forth match, with solid use of the stipulation, and a great finish. It was great to see Rosemary win, and hopefully they can recapture the momentum that was lost with her long ago.

– We now go back for a look at the Impact vs. Lucha Underground show, my review is here. I really think that they should have run this before the women’s match, and closed the show with Rosemary’s big win. PS: Fuck Alberto.

The final score: review Not So Good
The 411
Overall this was a very skippable show, but we did have some PPV matches being locked in and a good main event. Hopefully, next week’s show delivers a home run as it’s the final one ahead of the PPV…
