The Undead Maid of Honor vs. Rebel: It’s nice that Impact keeps giving KC Spinelli (the Undead Maid of Honor) work. She’s the Undead Maid of Honor, the Undead Maid of Honor zombie walks wildly early on, tossing Rebel around until Rebel cuts her off and hits something resembling a slow motion shining wizard. She tosses the Undead Maid of Honor to the floor and they brawl and back in, Rebel hits the back handspring into a clothesline. The Undead Maid of Honor cuts her off and then bends Rebel around the post. Back in she works a full nelson, tries the swing around and they fall down. Rebel fires back and gets a cradle for 2. The Undead Maid of Honor hits a knee strike, but misses a charge. Rebel its slow motion kicks and the splitting leg drop for 2. Undead Maid of Honor cuts her off and again tosses her around before choking Rebel out. The Undead Maid of Honor lays in chops, takes Rebel up top, but Rebel slips out and hits the double stomp and Rebel covers for the win. Rebel defeated The Undead Maid of Honor @ 5:40 via pin [*½] This was not in anyway a good professional wrestling match, but it was a spectacular display of wrestling under water.

We go around the ring with Killer Kross. Mathews discusses how Kross debuted with Impact, and Kross says he caused violence and confusion, leading to ratings. He feels no remorse for what he did, but won’t confirm his background with Mathews. He’s here to create change, which is what the people want. He finds tranquility in the desert and does nothing there every day. He’s insulted that Mathews thinks he joined Aries for money. He and Aries want to make change in Impact. Kross discusses his MMA influenced background, and says he’s an educated man in terms of knowing how to protect himself. Kross says helices to paint and long walks in the ring, in the cemetery. This was all in character, and not as fun as most of these interviews.

TNA World Title Match: Champion Kurt Angle vs. Matt Morgan vs. Sting vs. AJ Styles vs. Hernandez: Hernandez stupidly cashed in his feat or fired case BEFORE the match to be added to this one. He’d prove himself to be a complete geek and lose. This is actually a very good match, despite the dead at times crowd. AJ winning was great and they treated it like a HUGE deal with a huge post match celebration. They did a really good job of playing off of past issues and continuing issues throughout this one. AJ Styles defeated Champion Kurt Angle, Matt Morgan, Sting, & Hernandez @ 15:10 via pin [***½]

Champion Austin Aries vs. Texano: Moose & Kross are out with Aries. They lock up and Aries picks up the pace, takes early control and hits arm drags. The basement dropkick follows. Texano powders, back in and Texano picks up the pace and hits a senton atomico. Aries backs off and Texano mocks him. Aries attacks with boots, stuns Texano off the ropes but the Aries senton atomico eats knees. Texano lays in rights as they work to the floor. Post break, and Aries rakes the back. Texano fires back with rights and he rakes the back of Aries. The back breaker follows and Texano fires away with chops, and the leg lariat gets 2. Aries powders to the floor and teases walking off. He gets Texano’s bull rope, distracting the ref and gets the title and the ref takes it. Texano grabs the rope, hits a superkick and whips Aries with the rope, covering for 2. Aries now hits the brainbuster for the win. Champion Austin Aries defeated Texano @ 12:15 via pin [**] This was a completely flat and disappointing main event, that felt like they were working a half speed house show match. There was no sense of urgency here, and the crowd, which had been hot and lively previously in the evening just didn’t seem to care an I can’t blame them. Texano is a largely unspectacular performer, but in the past has worked up to better opponents and had good matches, unfortunately, that didn’t happen here and they also just didn’t mesh well together; it was ok at best, the post match came off much better, hyping Aries & Impact as well as Eddie vs. Moose. I have no clue why you’d choose to air this again, especially with two superior tag matches on the same show with crowds that cared about them.

– End Scene.

– Thanks for reading.

This week’s episode of Impact Xplosion was an overall slightly below average effort, with the real treat being the TNA No Surrender 2009 match.
