DJZ and Andrew Everett vs. El Reverso and Aiden Prince: Reverso slips as he flips into the ring, come on son, do better. He and Everett to begin, they work into some back and forth with Everett dropkicking him to he floor. Prince in and Everett dumps him and hits a springboard moonsault to the floor. Back in and Reverso takes control and tags in Prince. He hits the dropkick and takes DJZ to the floor. Everett fights back with chops, but Prince cuts him off with a knee strike. Everett fights off both and tags in DJZ. He flies in with a high cross and follows with a clothesline. He knocks Reverso to the floor, Everett in and they double team Prince. DJZ up top and Prince knocks Everett into him, Reverso in and he and Prince take control. Reverso back in and misses a high cross. DJZ back in and the ZDT follows. Everett hits a beautiful moonsault and that’s that. DJZ and Andrew Everett defeated El Reverso and Aiden Prince @ 6:00 via pin [**½] This was a solid match, but El Reverso and Aiden Prince were not very good as a team and looked extremely green in there especially compared to Z & E.

We go around the ring with Grado. He and Mathews banter a bit about nothing and then talk about Grado seeing Beyonce in concert. He loves Jay Z & Beyonce. Grado love starveling the world, and is excited to be in Mexico and wants to sample the street food. He’s on a sitcom in the UK, “2 Doors Down,” and is about to head back to film more content. Grado is upset that he missed seeing Pentagon & Fenix. Mathews says Grado should “borrow” some Pentagon moves and thinks the crowd will love it. Grado talks about Abyss going into the Hall of Fame and feels it’s long overdue. Grado puts him over big time.

Falls Count Anywhere Match: Abyss vs. Rhino: This was only ok at best as it was a complete walk and brawl, just slow and with no energy from the performers or the crowd. The good news is that while not good and far from great, they didn’t resort to a bunch of glass and thumbtack bullshit just to do it. It was unfortunately just a lackadaisical hardcore match that no one, the performers or the crowd, cared about being involved in. I’m cool with showing Abyss matches here ahead of his HOF induction, but he’s had some legit great matches, so the choice of this match was completely puzzling to me. Abyss defeated Rhino @ 12:40 via pin [**]

Johnny Impact & Eddie Edwards vs. Moose & Killer Kross: Aries is at ringside. Edwards and Kross to begin. Edwards chases and Moose drops to the floor. Impact tags in and Kross looks to overpower him, rakes the eyes and but Impact hits the dropkick and Moose tags in. Edwards tags in but Moose runs and tags out. Kross attacks and works over Edwards until Impact tags in and Kross cuts him off with rolling suplexes to take control. Post break, and Moose has the heat on Impact, laying in chops. Impact quickly counters back and tags in Edwards as Moose bails. Edwards lays in chops on Kross, but Kross cuts him off and now Moose wants in and lays n ground and pound on Edwards. Moose now bites Edwards, and follows with some chops after wiping his balls. The dropkick follows, Kross tags back in and hits the giant swing and then locks on a cloverleaf. Edwards fights of a suplex, but Kross lays in rights but Edwards hits a suplex counter. Impact tags backing and works over Kross with strikes. The dropkick follows, knocks Moose to the floor and the knee strike on Kross gets 2. Impact hits the sliding German and he heads up top and rolls through on the elbow drop attempt and he and Kross work into a double down. Wholesale changes to Moose and Edwards, they brawl and Edwards takes Moose up top and hits the RANA. Kross makes the save, hits an overhead throw. Impact and Kross brawl to the floor and Impact goes parkour and takes out Kross. Edwards hits the blue thunder bomb on Moose for 2. It breaks down and everyone is down. Aries is in and Impact lays him out with a belt shot. Kross hits the Saito and Edwards gets the cane and lights up Kross. Moose spears him and picks up the win. Moose & Killer Kross defeated Johnny Impact & Eddie Edwards @ 16:25 via pin [***] This was an overall good match, a bit flat in the middle, but overall did a good job of advancing the Moose vs. Edwards angle.

– End Scene.

This week’s episode of Impact Xplosion was another perfectly solid show and a fine addition to Impact. But like WWE Main Event, I still feel like it could be more.
