– Follow all of my reviews at this link.

– You can check out a review of last week’s show at this link.

– Rich Bocchini and Tony Schiavone are on commentary. They welcome us to the show.

– We get a video package of Pentagon’s attack/misting/blinding of MLW Champion Shane Strickland.

Trey Miguel vs. Kotto Brazil: Brazil is a little underdog fella. Brazil shoots for a takedown, and gets a cradle for 2. Miguel to the feet and Brazil works a side headlock. Miguel cuts him off and picks up the pace. They work into some counters and both go for pins and get 2 as they work into a standoff. Brazil hits a dropkick and uppercut, but Miguel hits a RANA and head scissors. Miguel fires up and sends Brazil to the floor with a PELE. The step-up dive follows, back in and the cover gets 2. He lays in chops but Brazil cuts him off and the cover gets 1. Miguel fights off the German and hits a bicycle kick. Brazil battles back with a corner dropkick and covers for 2. Brazil sends Miguel to the buckles and hits a bridging German for 2. Brazil up top and leaps into a head kick by Miguel. Miguel follows with rights, but Brazil cuts him off with a kick and sliced bread for 2. Brazil misses a charge and Miguel hits a trapped 619. The meteora finishes it. Trey Miguel defeated Kotto Brazil @ 7:14 via pin [**½] This was a perfectly solid opening match, with nice moves, but nothing linking them together all that well; it was too disjointed with a tepid crowd response to the action.

– Rich Bocchini interviews Salina de la Renta at her estate. She spends her time mocking him as he asks questions about her business. She puts over her stable of Latin American stars, noting that if they want to be big, they all come to her. She shoves him in her pool. This is followed by a backstage interview, where she reveals that she’s locked up both Pentagon & Fenix.

– We get highlights of last week’s Janela vs. Havoc match and Team Filthy beating down Havoc. Lawlor & Gotch are chilling in the hot tub and say Havoc got a beating because he deserved it.

Elimination Tag Team Match: Jason Cade and Jimmy Yuta vs. The Dirty Blondes (Michael & Leo) w/Colonel Robert Parker: These two teams have been feuding in some way since before the series hit air, with the Blondes dominating. They faced off on episode two, with the Blondes winning a short match. Yuta and Leo to begin. Leo looks to overpower him, but Yuta slaps him and hits a lucha arm drag. The dropkick follows. Cade tags in and they work double teams. Michael tags in and Cade & Yuta continue with double teams. The Blondes are sent to the floor and Yuta hits a suicide dive. Cade then hits a Fosbury flop onto the Blondes. Back in and Leo counters a high cross with the tights and eliminates Yuta (3:16). Cade fights for his life, but quickly gets cut off. Leo tags back in and the Blondes take the heat on Cade. The Blondes control with ease, just tossing Cade around. Leo lays the boots to him and tags in Michael. The Blondes work quick tags, but Cade runs them together and hits a tornado DDT but gets cut off. Leo takes him up top and follows, Cade slips out and hits black magic (backslide driver) and pins Michael (7:07). Leo attacks right away and hits an elbow drop for 2. Leo grounds things, but Cade fights back with a RANA and superkick. Leo counters black magic, and Parker trips up Cade. Michael back in for a double team spinebuster with the ref distracted and the Blondes pickup the win. The Dirty Blondes defeated Jason Cade and Jimmy Yuta @ 9:01 via pin [**½] This was another solid match, with the Dirty Blondes stealing another win via shenanigans over the fighting babyfaces. It’s a solid story, but the crowd just doesn’t feel into Yuta & Cade enough to have a real emotional attachment.

– Yuta & Cade are frustrated following their latest loss. They plan to be back in sync in time for the tag team tournament.

– Shane Strickland comments on being misted and how his eyes are. He’s recovering and will be ready for next week’s title defense.

Pentagon’s Title Shot On The Line: Pentagon Jr. vs. Rey Fenix: These two faced off on the debut episode, which Pentagon won in a very good match. Due to Pentagon misting MLW Champion Shane Strickland, management has forced him to defend his title shot here tonight. Salina de la Renta, who represents both, is at ringside. They brawl at the bell and Pentagon lays in big strikes and chops. They trade and Fenix cuts him off with a superkick and hits a RANA out of the pop-up powerbomb attempt. The high cross to the floor follows. Back in and Fenix hits a double stomp for a good near fall. Pentagon cuts him off with a dropkick to counter the springboard attack. The lariat follows and they brawl to the floor. Pentagon posts Fenix and then rolls him back in. Pentagon lays in shotgun like chops, and follows with a sling blade for 2. Fenix fires back and hits a rolling cutter. The spin kick follows but Pentagon cuts him off with a Liger bomb for 2. Post break, and both men are down. Fenix counters a chokeslam into a cradle for 2. The spin kick to the head connects and both are down again. They get to their feet and to the apron they go. They trade strikes and kicks, Fenix then hits a double stomp onto the apron. Back in and Fenix hits the swanton for 2. Fenix follows with more kicks, but Pentagon HITS AN APRON PACKAGE PILEDRIVER! He’s dead, Jim. Back in and Pentagon covers for 2. Pentagon looks for the arm break and gets it. The Penta driver only gets 2! Another package piledriver finishes it. Pentagon Jr. defeated Rey Fenix @ 14:20 via pin [***¾] This was another very good match from the brothers, you really can’t go wrong with them. It was a bit better than the week one meeting, with more intensity and more risks taken to once again reflect that a title shot was on the line. This was easily the best thing on the show.

– Pentagon faces MLW Champion Shane Strickland next week.

– End scene.

– Thanks for reading.

Tonight’s episode of MLW: Fusion was another pretty good episode. They are telling solid undercard stories, and the matches are fine, but if pressed for time, skip to the main event, that’s the money this week. MLW has been consistent, but are still looking for that wow factor that the debut episode had.
