– Follow all of my reviews at this link.

– I recently ranked the top 10 NXT women at this link.

– We open with highlight of Almas winning the title at WarGames, and the injury to Drew McIntyre, leading to the mini-tournament.

NOTE: I AM REVIEWING THE WWE NETWORK VERSION OF THE SHOW.

Champion Andrade “Cien” Almas w/Zelina Vega vs. Fabian Aichner: Almas hits a dropkick at the bell. Aichner cuts him off with a back breaker, sending him to the floor and following with a springboard dive. Back in and he hits a springboard tornado DDT for 2. Almas battles back with chops, but Aichner cuts him off with a powerbomb for 2. Aichner up top and Vega distracts him, allowing Almas to dump him to the floor and slam him into the steps. Back in and the hammerlock DDT finishes it. Champion Andrade “Cien” Almas defeated Fabian Aichner @ 2:14 via pin [NR] This was a fun little sprint, with Aichner again looking good; dude has a ton of potential.

– We get an Aleister Black video package.

– We get a Sanity promo, talking the beauty of WarGames. They have not left the battlefield, and next week, they will finish what they started when they face Fish & O’Reilly.

The Authors of Pain w/Paul Ellering vs. Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan: Burch in to begin, he fires away with uppercuts but gets cut off right away. Lorcan tags in, and he and Burch fight off the AOP. They run wild a bit but get cut off. Lorcan eats a SVD to the buckles, and the super collider and powerbombs follow. The last chapter finishes Lorcan. The Authors of Pain defeated Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan @ 1:16 via pin [NR] Simple destruction from the Authors of Pain. I wish Burch and Lorcan could have gotten more in, but the Authors are more of a priority right now. It was fun while it lasted.

– We get a UK title video package, hyping Dunne vs. Bate III next week.

Champion Ember Moon vs. Peyton Royce w/Billie Kay: This was not shown on the USA Network version of the show. Lock up to begin, and Royce takes control with strikes and knees. Moon hits a head scissors, and Royce bails to the floor. Moon up top and wipes them out with a high cross. Kay distracts Moon, allowing Royce to tie her up in the ropes. Post break, Moon tries to battle back, but Royce grounds things. Moon now fires back with kicks, covering for 2. Moon fires away with strikes, Royce fights off the suplex and hits a back elbow. Kicks follow, covering for 2. Royce looks for the fisherman’s suplex, but Moon fights it off. She misses a kick and Moon looks for a powerbomb, but instead sets Royce in the ropes and hits a stomp Moon up top and the eclipse puts Royce away. Champion Ember Moon defeated Peyton Royce @ 5:25 via pin [**½] This was a perfectly fine match, with Moon picking up the win to keep her momentum as champion rolling.

– Kay attack post match and then she and Royce double-team her and Nikki Cross makes the save. She runs them off. Crazy Nikki Cross rules. She stares down Moon, and then stares at the title. Nice post match, and you can go Moon vs. Kay, Moon vs. Cross or possibly a tag match coming out of this.

– We get a video of the Street Profits doing a street talk segment, talking with fans.

– We get a video package on Cole and the Gang running wild on NXT since their debut.

– We get another Shayna Baszler video package.

NXT Title Contender’s Match: Adam Cole vs. Aleister Black: They play around a bit to begin, Black then slams Cole down and follows with a series of strikes. Cole bails to the floor as Black takes a seat. Post break, Cole grounds things, working a crossface. Cole cranks back on the hold, Black struggles and makes the ropes. Cole yells at Black, and lays the boots to him. Black gets pissed and starts lighting up Cole with kicks and hits the corner forearm and then the moonsault press. Cole powders, avoiding black mass. He stuns Black off the ropes, heads up top and Black catches him with a kick on the way down, covering for 2. Cole hits an enziguri and backstabber, covering for 2. Black cuts off Cole with strikes, but Cole fires back with a superkick, but Black cradles him for 2. Cole hits the last shot for a good near fall. Cole sets, but Black blocks the superkick and hits a huge knee strike. Black mass finishes it. Aleister Black defeated Adam Cole @ 7:05 via pin [**¾] This was a pretty good match, with the right guy winning, but it just lacked the high quality of some of the recent NXT TV main events.

– Aleister Black, Killian Dain, and Johnny Gargano have all advanced to the fatal four-way #1 contender’s match.

– Next week is Dunne vs. Bate III and Sanity vs. Fish & O’Reilly.

– End Scene.

– Thanks for reading.

Tonight’s episode of NXT TV was a solid show, with two fun squash matches, and Moon keeping momentum as champion, while Black moves on into the title contender’s tournament. Next week’s show has a ton of potential, with the two title matches announced, and this show did a fine job of setting that up.
