NXT Title Match: Champion Aleister Black defeated Eric Young @ 8:44 via pin [**½]

– Follow all of my reviews at this link.

The Undisputed Era Talk: The Undisputed Era arrive. Strong & O’Reilly are officially billed as the tag team champions now. Cole puts over all of their championships, and says everyone tried to stop this from happening, but here they stand as champions. Fish says that they were thrown to the wolves repeatedly, but they remained a step ahead, and are now covered in gold. Roddy save everyone wants to know why he did what he did. He did what he did for himself, and made the best decision of career. He could have won with Dunne, but Dunne would have turned on him. But he realized that why have it be Roddy vs. the world, when he could join with his friends and join NXT. O’Reilly says they are done being backed into a corner, because they can’t be stopped, and the times are changing. Cole sends them to the back because he’s defending his title on his own. Good opening segment, setting Undisputed Era up as the new power players in NXT.

NXT North American Champion Adam Cole vs. Oney Lorcan: Cole is still selling Takeover, with his ribs taped up. They lockup and Lorcan attacks the ribs, but Cole makes the ropes. Lorcan quickly works an abdominal stretch, Cole escapes and powders. Lorcan chases, but Cole cuts him off with an enziguri. He lays the boots to Lorcan, and then lays in ground and pound. He grounds the action. Cole hits an ushigoroshi, but is slowed due to the ribs. Lorcan attacks, laying in uppercuts and chops. He keeps attacking, hits a running blockbuster, and covers for 2. Lorcan dumps him over the ropes with a suplex and Cole falls to the floor. The Undisputed Era arrives and Strong hits a back breaker onto the apron on Lorcan. Cole hits the last shot and retains. American Champion Adam Cole defeated Oney Lorcan @ 5:50 via pin [**] This was ok, more of an angle to put over the Undisputed Era’s unity and dominance.

– Post match, Cole and the gang beats down Lorcan, Burch out to make the save, but he’s cut off and Undisputed Era stand tall.

– We get a Shayna Baszler video package.

– Next we get highlights from last week

Heavy Machinery (Otis & Tucker) vs. Tino Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss: Moss & Sabbatelli are still in the middle of a horribly long break up. Moss and Tucker to begin. Tucker hits a shoulder tackle, and Heavy Machinery cleans house. Otis tags in and cuts off Sabbatelli. They hit the slams and pose. Otis works over Moss, and than takes out Sabbatelli. Moss manages to hit a German and lays in rights. Sabbatelli tags in and they double-team Otis. Moss back in and Otis runs him into Sabbatelli. Tucker tags in and Sabbatelli then short arms Moss and bails on him. Tucker hits an overhead toss and Otis is in and the compactor finishes things. Heavy Machinery defeated Tino Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss @ 4:05 via pin [*] It was a match that happened. Sabbatelli &Moss continue their break up. This was fine to set up War Raiders for the War Raiders.

– Post match, Heavy Machinery promise to eat all the steaks and lift all the weights as they call out the War Raiders.

– We get a video package, with the women of NXT talking about Shayna Baszler.

– Dakota Kai comments on her issues with Shayna Baszler. She’d rather not talk about last week, and Baszler arrives. Kai acts scared, and Baszler runs her down, telling her that she runs the women’s division and that it’s Kai’s worst nightmare.

Dollar Tree Rock Kona Reeves returns next week.

– We get a video package on Lacey Evans, Vanessa Borne, and Candice Lerae.

– NXT Champion Aleister Black vs. Johnny Gargano was supposed to be next, but THAT BALD SON OF A BITCH ATATCKS GARGANO! Ciampa (with an eye patch on)beats the shit out of Johnny and says he’s not done, but Johnny fires up and they brawl. Ciampa low blows him and hits a running boot. Ciampa hits an air raid crash off of the stage and onto a table, ruining Johnny’s night. Candice arrives to check on Johnny, and they stretcher him out. I am sure some will be critical that they are continuing the program, but Ciampa is a psychopath and it makes sense for him to be obsessed with ending Gargano & continuing to ruin his life after his failure at Takeover. The feud is far from over.

– As the ambulance leaves, Ciampa waves goodbye to Johnny…

– Aleister Black arrives. He calls out Ciampa, but Sanity’s music hits and they arrive, minus Cross. Young cuts a promo about chaos, and we get a match.

Champion Aleister Black vs. Eric Young: Thy lock up, Black grounds things and Young finally makes the ropes. He grounds the action; Black escapes but runs into an elbow strike. Black then sends him to the floor and poses. Young back in, Black hits an arm drag, and then knee strikes. Wolfe runs in, cut off, but Young chokes out Black and takes control back. The neck breaker follows for 2. Black tries to fire back, but Young hits a backdrop and covers for 2. Black cuts him off and gets a sunset flip for 2. Black wipes him out with a knee strike for the double down. They get to the feet, trading strikes and Black picks up the pace and runs wild. The moonsault press gets 2. Black gets the octopus hold, but Young counters into a DVD for 2. Young up top; gets cut off, and Black follows him up. Black mass finishes it. Champion Aleister Black defeated Eric Young @ 8:44 via pin [**½] This was a solid little match, with the goal of putting over Black as a dominant champion, and writing Sanity off as they head to Smackdown.

– Post match, Black lays out Wolfe & Dain with Black Mass, and stands tall, sending Sanity packing to Smackdown.

– Next week…

* Bianca Belair vs. Candice LeRae
* Kona Reeves Returns
* Pete Dunne vs. Roderick Strong
* TM61 (Miller & Thorne) vs. The Street Profits (Ford & Dawkins)

– End Scene.

– Thanks for reading.

While there wasn’t a lot to write home about wrestling wise, tonight’s episode of NXT TV was an overall solid hour of TV with some good angles. The Undisputed Era was solidly entrenched as the top heel faction, Black looked great as he sent Sanity packing off to Smackdown, and Ciampa showed that the feud with Gargano is far from done. They also set up matches for next week, making this a solid show that put things in motion for the next few weeks.
