Csonka’s ROH TV Review 11.03.16

OFFICIAL RESULTS
– Donovan Dijak defeated Danny Miles @ 2:17 via pin [NR]
– Mark Briscoe and Jay Briscoe defeated Adam Page and Adam Cole @ 7:30 via DQ [**½]
Second Round Match in the Six-Man Tag Team Tournament: ACH, KUSHIDA, and Jay White defeated The Cabinet @ 13:55 via pin [***]

Donovan Dijak vs. Danny Miles: Dijak was out with Prince Nana and the dudes holding his banners. Dijak refused to shake hands and kicked Miles in the face. Dijak did a bunch of angry faces and beat down Miles, who tried to throw punches, but ate the choke breaker. Dijak hit feast your eyes three times (on Nana’s orders) and won. Donovan Dijak defeated Danny Miles @ 2:17 via pin [NR] Just a quick squash to try and get Dijak back on track.

– Nana cut a post match promo, saying that Dijak didn’t quit at the PPV and he never will. He praised Dijak as a great athlete, and while he was disappointed that Dijak lost at the PPV, and says it will never happen again.

– We get highlights from last week, where Bullet Club attacked The Machine Guns after the show

– The Briscoes cut a promo on the Addiction, noting that they cost them a chance to become tag team champions. They want revenge.

– The Briscoes make their way to the ring. The Addiction and Kamaitachi then followed. The Addiction says they aren’t here to fight, but they are here. Ladder War changed them, and they know that the Briscoes are a legacy and have been here since day one. Some consider the Briscoes the greatest tag team in ROH history, and then praises the legacy of Christopher Daniels. They may retreat tonight, but they won’t surrender because they are making it their mission to make sure they become the great tag team in ROH history. They promise to go and heal, and to never die. Jay says that was a great speech, but they are here to fight and challenge the Young Bucks to a tag title match.

– After the commercial break, Bullet Club’s music hit, but Adam Page and Adam Cole arrived. Cole says the Bucks just went through hell, and it’s not that impressive that the Briscoes called them out. Cole says Bullet Club runs this place, so the Bucks will not be fighting tonight and mocked their accents. Jay told Cole to “bring your pretty ass in here.” They did and we have a match.

Mark Briscoe and Jay Briscoe vs. Adam Page and Adam Cole: They brawled right away, the Briscoes ran wild and Cole pulled Page to the floor. Page and Cole returned and attacked the Briscoes from behind to try and get the advantage. Page then started to work over Mark, he and Cole worked quick tags and isolated him in their corner. They kept the heat as we took a commercial break. Post break, Mark was trying to fight back, but got cut off by Page. Cole tagged in, but Mark caught him with an enziguri and ran wild on Bullet Club. He decapitated Page with a lariat, and then hit the neck breaker for 2. The jay driller is stopped as Cole took out the Briscoes with belt shots. ReDRagon made the save; they are both still taped up due to the recent attacks by Bullet Club. Mark Briscoe and Jay Briscoe defeated Adam Page and Adam Cole @ 7:30 via DQ [**½] That was picking up well until the finish, which wasn’t bad as it advanced the angles. Bullet Club attempting to take out all of their competition prior to title matches is a solid strategy, and more importantly, makes sense for a heel stable.

– Matt Taven cuts a promo, saying that he warned us and now his new Kingdom arrives in one week.

– Jay Lethal is here for promo time. Lethal says he gets his rematch with Adam Cole in the UK. He believes that he is the greatest wrestler in the world right now, and he will prove that when he beats Adam Cole for the title. He has removed all of his distractions, and actually forgives Cole for shaving his head. He even admires Cole because he did everything in his power to win the ROH Title, and he plans to do the same.

Second Round Match in the Six Man Tag Team Tournament: Rhett Titus, Caprice Coleman, and Kenny King vs. ACH, KUSHIDA, and Jay White: The Cabinet took a knee to protest the Code of Honor. We got the big brawl to begin, with the Cabinet taking control and isolating White. We then took a commercial 30-seconds in. Post break, the Cabinet was still in control, working the heat on White. King hit a spin kick and then a spinebuster for 2. White countered a suplex and got the tag to ACH, ACH ran wild for a bit, landing kicks and then the faces working corner attacks on King. White hit the missile dropkick and covered for 2. Coleman got the tag, but so did KUSHIDA who hit a dropkick. KUSHIDA took out Titus and King, and then got the hover board lock on Coleman, who made the ropes. The face worked quick tags as hey worked the arm of Coleman. ACH laid in chops as he continued his control on Coleman. Titus distracted ACH, and then King tossed him to the floor. They worked through another commercial break, and when we came back, the Cabinet had the heat on ACH. ACH got his hope spots, but got caught with a cradle suplex for 2. Ach then made a comeback on Titus and King, and tagged in KUSHIDA. KUSHIDA hit the springboard dropkick and then attacked with dropkicks to Coleman. KUSHIDA started to fight off all three Cabinet members, and hit a German/roll up combo for 2. White then got the tag, KUSHIDA sent to the apron and then the faces triple teamed Titus. White hit the brain buster for a near fall as it broke down. Titus fought off White, hitting the dropkick and then hit the corner splash. Coleman hit the leg lariat off the top, but KUSHIDA made the save. It broke down with all six men in, we got the signature move buffet and KUSHIDA took out Titus and King. Coleman tripped up KUSHIDA, but White then caught him with the uranage as KUSHIDA hit a dive to the floor. 450 by ACH and that was that. ACH, KUSHIDA, and Jay White defeated The Cabinet @ 13:55 via pin [***] This was a good main event that slightly flirted with getting great, but just never got there because the Cabinet is… the Cabinet. ACH, KUSHIDA, and Jay White are a very fun team.

– End scene.

– Thanks for reading.

This was a solid show from ROH, nothing was bad and there was some angle development. Unfortunately the show lacks that certain something to make it must see TV.
