Jay Lethal vs. Flip Gordon: They work some nice back and forth to begin, Flip keeps trying to pick up the pace, but Jay does a nice job of keeping things under control. Post break, and Flip starts taking control, and laying chops. Flip follows with a corner dropkick, hits another and Jay sidesteps the third and then drops Flip with a rolling forearm for 2. Jay works him over in the corner, and then lays in knee strikes to the back. Flip finally fights to his feet and hits a desperation enziguri. The suicide dive follows. Jay backing and cuts off Flip, sending him to the floor. Jay hits a suicide dive, but Flip cuts off the second with a superkick. Jay avoids a suicide dive, they work to the apron and Flip hits a corkscrew moonsault to the floor. Post break, and they start trading strikes & chops center ring. Jay looks for a figure four, but Flip cradles him for 2. Flip counters the lethal injection with a springboard sling blade. Flip hits the Samoan pop and PELE for 2. Flip sets Jay up top, his kinder surprise, and now follows him up. Jay slips out and then locks in the figure four. Flip escapes, making the ropes and they trade strikes and kicks. Flip hits a jumping knee strike but slips on the star spangles stunner, allowing Jay to hit the snapdragon suplex and lethal injection for the win. This was a good back and forth match to open up the show. They worked hard and matched up well, and while the slip near the end was unfortunate, it played well into narrative of the match as commentary smartly played it up as Flip’s inexperience against the veteran and former champion bit him in the ass. Lethal winning keeps his momentum as he works towards his world title shot. Speaking of that…

– Post match Colt Cabana informs Lethal that he gets his world title shot at the 16th anniversary show. Scurll arrives and throws a fit about it, complaining that he still isn’t getting title shots. Lethal agrees if he wins the title he will defend it against Scurll.

– We get a video package for Brandi Rhodes vs. Karen Q.

Women of Honor Title Tournament Match: Brandi Rhodes vs. Karen Q: Karen attacks before the bell and lays in strikes on Brandi. Brandi hits an arm drag, and then lays in rough looking leg kicks. The dropkick follows. Karen quickly cuts her off and chokes her out in the ropes. The back handspring forearm follows and then the running boot. Karen now hits the XPLODER. Post break, and Karen hits the rolling senton and standing moonsault for 2. Karen heads up top and misses the frog splash. Brandi fires back with chops, hits an elbow and hits a sling blade for 2. She follows with an elbow, and misses a missile dropkick. Karen works the crab now, but Brandi makes the ropes. Karen now lays in chops & strike sin the corner, and Brandi does an up and over, and sells her leg. It was a trap and she rolls up Karen for the win. Brandi Rhodes defeated Karen Q @ 7:30 via pin [**] The match was ok, but had the wrong winner. Brandi moving on feels like it’s only because of Cody & because she’s on the WAGS: Atlanta show. Karen Q has been one of the best and most consistent women they have and having her lose here is completely foolish and robs us of a second round match between Tennille Dashwood & Karen Q. Poor booking, on par with Mandy Leon’s push.

– We get a backstage promo with Dalton Castle. Scurll interrupts him and they argue; Castle agrees if he retains the title he will defend it against Scurll.

ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championship Match: The Hung Bucks (Adam Page, Nick & Matt Jackson) vs. SoCal Uncensored (Daniels, Kazarian, & Sky): Page and Kaz start off with strikes center ring. Page hits a clothesline and lays the boots to Kaz until Sky & Daniels make the save. The Bucks make the save and run wild on Daniels and then Sky with double teams. Page hits the dropsault on Daniels and the champions clear the ring. The challengers tease walking out, but Nick hits a tope to wipe them out. The champions follow with a trio of suicide dives. Back in and page hits the buckshot lariat for 2. The action spills to the floor, and Page fights them off as Kaz accidentally hits Daniels. Sky finally cuts him off, and they double team Page on the floor. Back in and Sky covers for 2. Daniels tags back in and maintains the heat on Page. Post break, Page battles back, and he and Kaz work into a double down. Daniels back in and Matt gets the tag as well. Nick in as well and they run wild; superkicks follow. Nick hits a high cross and Kaz is sent to the floor. The buckle bomb combo follows on Daniels, and Nick hits a top rope splash along with a standing moonsault from Matt for 2.They look for the Meltzer driver, but Kaz cuts that off. Sky takes Matt to the floor and hits a nice tope on the Bucks. Page hits a moonsault off the tope to wipe out the pile on the floor. Back in and Matt counters angel’s wings and locks on the sharpshooter, Daniels fights, and Nick hits the x-factor and moonsault to the floor. Kaz pulls out the ref and Daniels taps. Sky in with a belt shot on Matt, and we have new champions…

BUT WAIT!

Bully Ray arrives, monologues, noting that ROH has turned into the wild west. He then says that ROH COO Joe Koff gave him permission to do whatever he needs to in order to get some order back in this company, and he’s our new enforcer. He then restarted the match.

The Bucks and Page hit superkicks, and Page takes out Sky. The Meltzer driver on Daniels finishes it. Champions The Hung Bucks defeated SoCal Uncensored @ 11:00 via pin [***¼] I would think that this sets up a rematch at the 16th anniversary PPV. Even with the restart and promo from Bully Ray, this was an overall good match, and I think that the rematch will be even better.

– Next Week:

* ROH TV Title Match: Champion Silas Young vs. Kenny King
* Women of Honor Title Tournament Match: Kelly Klein vs. Bonesaw Brooks

– End Scene.

– Thanks for reading.

The final score: review Good

This was an overall good show, setting up PPV matches, matches for next week and giving us two good matches. But I’m not exactly thrilled about Bully Ray coming in as any sort of authority figure, it’s one thing I’ve enjoyed about ROH. If it’s extremely limited, it may be ok.
