: WOH Champion Sumie Sakai defeated Tasha Steelz @ 3:15 via pin [**]
– Jonathan Gresham defeated Bully Ray @ 0:03 via DQ [NR]
– SCU defeated The Briscoes & Punishment Martinez @ 11:40 via pin [***½]

– Follow all of my reviews at this link.

– I did a column, “Where Are They Now, The Cruiserweight Classic Finals Performers” which you can check out at this link.

– You can check out my top 51 matches of AUGUST list at this link.

The Champ Is Here: ROH Champion Jay Lethal arrives and is asked about his favorite matches, and mentions the matches with Strong, Joe, & Styles… and says after last week his new favorite match the iron man match with Jonathan Gresham. That match is the kind of match that made him fall in love with ROH; no stories, no angles, just two great pro wrestlers doing what they do best. Gresham earned his respect and a new friend. He will be there if and when Gresham needs him, but Lethal wants more, more matches like last week’s. he issues an open challenge to ANYONE for Death Before Dishonor to challenge him for the ROH Title; “Boys, come and get it.” Will Ospreay appears on the video screen and says he’s back, and he wants the ROH title, and to take the company on his back. He accepts the challenge. Lethal accepts. Fuck yes, that’s an awesome PPV match right there.

– SCU (Daniels, Kazarian, & Sky) comments on tonight’s main event.

– Brandi Rhodes is on commentary.

WOH Champion Sumie Sakai vs. Tasha Steelz: If Steelz wins here, she earns a WOH title shot. Steelz tries to attack at the bell, and takes things to the floor and hits a cannonball against the barricade. Back in and she covers for 2. Sakai fights back with chops and a Saito suplex. The clothesline and running knee strike connects and the neck breaker gets 2. Sakai then hits the missile dropkick and covers for 2. Steelz fights off smash mouth, and hits a bulldog, covering for 2. Sakai quickly counters back and hits smash mouth for the win. Champion Sumie Sakai defeated Tasha Steelz @ 3:15 via pin [**] This was essentially a squash to set Sakai up for the next segment as a dominant and fighting champion. Steelz looked good and I’d like to see her back, especially based off of some of her other work I’ve seen, she’s a project worth investing in.

– Cody, Page, the Bucks, & Scurll comment on their match with CHAOS at Death Before Dishonor.

– Ian arrives to interview Sakai. Sakai will defend at Death Before Dishonor. She jokes about her broken English and says ROH is her home and she’s happy to be here and to be champion. She wants to be the best but has to keep beating the best, and calls out Tenillle Dashwood. Dashwood now arrives. Dashwood accepts the challenge for Death Before Dishonor. Respects Sakai, but that doesn’t mean she won’t take the title from her. They shake and it is official.

– Kenny King discuses his match with Adam Page next week. After he beats Page, he’s headed to the PPV to beat Jushin Liger.

– Ian interviews Jonathan Gresham. Gresham says he was close to beating Lethal… and Bully Ray arrives. Bully says Colt isn’t here to protect Ian and runs him down. He dismisses him from the ring. Gresham gets in his face and Bully says he’ll interview Gresham. They were never introduced and Bully says he’s the man that single-handedly sold out MSG for ROH. Not to see a guy like Gresham. He says this is like Piper’s Pit when Piper interviewed the jobbers. Bully says that’s not disrespectful, it’s just the truth. If the people loved Gresham they would have given him a standing ovation. The crowd loves Gresham and Gresham takes the mic from him and calls him “Bubba.” Gresham knows he can’t fight Bully but he can outwrestle him because he watched Devon carry Bully for 20-years. If Bully beats him he’ll shake his hand, but if he wins. He expects a handshake. Bully agrees.

Jonathan Gresham vs. Bully Ray: Bully low blows Gresham right away and shoves down the ref. He then gets his chain and shakes Gresham’s hand and whips him with the chain. Flip arrives and attacks, but Bully cuts him off. Lethal is here and lights up Bully with strikes. Silas Young arrives and lays out Lethal, saving Bully. Jonathan Gresham defeated Bully Ray @ 0:03 via DQ [NR] This was an overall good angle to possibly set up a PPV or TV tag match between Bully & Young vs. Flip & Gresham.

– Post break, we get a bit of a curve ball as they set up Lethal & Gresham vs. Bully & Young for next week.

– We get a video preview for the ROH TV Punishment Martinez vs. Chris Sabin match at Death Before Dishonor.

– Chris Sabin joins commentary.

The Briscoes & Punishment Martinez vs. SCU (Daniels, Kazarian, & Sky): SCU attacks before the bell and here we go. They brawl in the ring and on the floor. SCU runs wild and hits dives, they isolate Jay and Kaz picks up a near fall. Double teams follow, and Daniels now takes control and the Angle slam follows for 2. Mark cuts off Daniels allowing Jay to dump him to the floor; Martinez then chokeslams Daniels to the apron. Back in and Martinez tags in and maintains control, pummeling Daniels with strikes. Mark tags in and lays the boots to Daniels and then chokes him out. Double teams follow and Martinez tags back in and triple teams follow on Daniels. Martinez hits a slam and covers for 2. Post break, and Daniels is starting to fire back, and hits the blue thunder bomb. Wholesale changes to Sky & Mark, Sky runs wild and hits a RANA & double stomp. The springboard cutter connects for 2. The Briscoes cut him off and Martinez hits the curb stomp for 2. It breaks down into the big move buffet; SCU works double-teams and picks up a near fall. Daniels now hits the suicide dive and takes out Jay. Kaz hits a cutter on Mark, but Martinez makes the save. ay then accidentally hits the ref with a chair, Martinez and the Briscoes no run wild with chair shots. They isolate Kaz, Sabin rushes the ring and distracts Martinez and they brawl to the back. back in and the Best Meltzer ever gets the win for SCU. SCU defeated The Briscoes & Punishment Martinez @ 11:40 via pin [***½] This was an overall very good and fun main event that also helped with the build to two Death Before Dishonor title matches.

Next Week: Adam Page vs. Kenny King, Lethal & Gresham vs. Bully & Young

– End Scene.

– Thanks for reading.

The 411
This was an overall good episode of ROH TV, locking in two title matches for Death Before Dishonor, some matches for next week, and giving us a very good main event that also built to Death Before Dishonor.
