Best Friends (Chuckie & Trent) The Boys: We get a playful beginning with the Boys taking control, using their speed and a big tope from a Boy. Back in and Trent finally cuts off a Boy with a snap German and on the floor they hit a crucifix cutter. Post break, and Trent works over the isolated boy, and Chuckie comes in for the double chokeslam. The Boy escapes a Razor’s edge and gets the tag. The backstabber and lung blower follows for 2.Trentcuts him off with a DDT and then the running knee strike. But the Boy fights back with a cradle for 2.The Best Friends hit the dude buster and awful waffle for the win. Best Friends defeated The Boys @ 7:27 via pin [***] This was a good little sprint of an opener, with the Boys playing great babyfaces while the Best Friends pick up a win to hopefully get back into the mix for the titles.

– We get an Addiction vs. Briscoes video package.

Kenny King vs. Adam Page: King recently turned heel, defeating Marty Scurll and has a PPV match on Friday against Jushin Liger. They lock up and King looks to take control, but Page counters out and grounds the action. They work to the ropes, and break. They trade shoulder tackles, and King gets the takedown. They pick up the pace; King hits a dropkick, and work to the floor. Page lays in strikes, King answers back and takes a selfie with a fan, allowing Page to hit the apron shooting star press. Page then takes a selfie and rolls King back in. Page gets one of King’s pool floaties and the other. They fight with the floaties and Page hits a suplex onto a floatie. Post break, and Page hits the pump handle press for 2. King quickly cuts him off with a chin checker and lariat. The spin kick follows and then the spinebuster gets 2. They work into standing switches and counters, Page hits the German and that gets 2. King rolls to the floor and cuts off the suicide dive, To the apron and King hits a kick, but back in and Page hits the buckshot lariat for 2. They trade strikes, but King counters the rite of passage with the ropes for 2. Page then counters the royal flush and they work into a series of cradles, and King grabs the tights for the win. Kenny King defeated Adam Page @ 12:00 via pin [***] This was a good back and forth match, with King continuing his heelish ways and picking up momentum ahead of the PPV on Friday.

– They try and run a Top prospect tournament match, but Jeff Cobb arrives and attacks the poor bastards. Cobb then says the tournament is over, because he’s the top prospect.

– We get a Sakai vs. Dashwood video package.

Jay Lethal & Jonathan Gresham vs. Bully Ray & Silas Young: This was set up on last week’s show. Bully & Gresham to begin; nope, Bully immediately tags out. Young in and Gresham grounds the action and starts working the arm until Young makes the ropes. Gresham picks up the pace, and hits a RANA and basement dropkick. Gresham dares Bully to tag in and slaps him. Young tags in Bully, and Bully teases walking out, throwing a fit at ringside. He’s back in and Gresham gets caught and then slips out and slaps Bully again. Bull cuts him off with a backdrop and pie faces Jay. Jay tags in and he locks up with Bully. Bully shakes him off, hits a shoulder tackle and then misses a dropkick. Post break, and Bully and Jay trade, Jay dares Bully to chop him so he does. They continue to trade; Jay fires up and gets run over by Bully. Bully accidentally takes out Young and Jay & Gresham hit stereo topes. Back in and Bully cuts off Gresham, and lays in clubbing strikes. He follows with jabs, but Gresham hits a basemen dropkick and then locks on the octopus hold. Bully escapes, lays in chops but Gresham fires up as Bully keeps delivering chops. Bully misses the leg drop and Jay tags in. Jay & Young tag in and Jay runs wild, hits the missile dropkick and lethal combo. He teases a suplex, Gresham in and they suplex Bully. Gresham tags back in and hits the wazzup head butt on Bully. The German on Young follows and Jay hits the elbow drop and Gresham hits the shooting star press for 2. Bully causes a ref bump, low blows Gresham and Young finishes him with misery. Bully Ray & Silas Young defeated Jay Lethal & Jonathan Gresham @ 14:20 via pin [***¼] This was an overall good match, with an invested crowd, and everyone playing their roles very well.

As a stand-alone wrestling show, this week’s ROH TV is a good show, filled with good and fun wrestling. But when you take into consideration the fact that this was the PPV go home show, I found the effort to push the PPV almost non-existent, and therefore, it missed its main objective. The wrestling is good and fun, so you’ll likely enjoy that, but if you’re looking for good PPV build, this isn’t the show you’re looking for.
