Josh Woods vs. QT Marshall: Marshall returned a few weeks back (8.30.17), doing commentary and teasing being a manager/paying off Shane Taylor, and leading an attack on Woods. Woods hits a double leg and grounds Marshall right away. He transitions into the arm bar, Marshall escapes but Woods hits a springboard kick, sending Marshall to the floor. Woods looks for a running knee strike, Marshall moves and Woods takes out a security guard. Woods hits an XPLODER and then hits the knee strike on Marshall. Back in the ring and Marshall cuts off Woods, and looks to take over, but runs into another knee strike. They work to the apron and Marshall hits an apron back breaker. Post break, and Marshall hits a suicide dive. Back in and they trade strikes, Marshall hits a superkick and uranage. Woods avoids the lionsault, Woods hits… something sending Marshall sloppily to the buckles. Woods hits superman punches, the overhead belly to belly and a running knee strike for 2. Marshall hits an enziguri and takes Woods up top. Woods slips out, and hits a release German off the top. Marshall then hits a powerbomb, but Woods locks on a triangle and transitions to the knee bar and Marshall taps. Josh Woods defeated QT Marshall @ 8:03 via submission [**½] This was a solid back and forth match, but was really too back and forth as it never settled in and was a little sloppy at times. Also it just felt off for Marshall to take so much of the match, considering Woods is the one being pushed and Marshall was just returning. He did well, but this felt like a match Woods should have had an easier time with.

– Caprice Coleman interviews Mark Briscoe. Briscoe wears a tie with his t-shirt, because he respects Coleman. He discusses the implosion of the team with Bully Ray, noting that Jay is in a dark place. Coleman says Mark has only been a champion because of Jay. Briscoe says he respects Bully, and Coleman says Bully has taken the thunder from the brothers. Briscoe says the team isn’t going anywhere, but Jay may need an attitude adjustment.

– We see footage of Castle challenging Cody in the UK.

– Cody arrives to join commentary.

The 20-Man Honor Rumble: The winner of the match gets an ROH Title shot. #1 is Jay White, #2 is Sho of the Tempura Boyz. Sho bows and kisses the boot of White. He then attacks and tries to toss him. White battles back, but Sho lights him up with kicks. White cuts him off with a dropkick, but Sho almost tosses him. #3 is Punishment Martinez. He and White go to battle right away, Martinez works over Sho & White; #4 is Jonathan Gresham. Gresham attacks Martinez right away, everyone starts attacking Martinez as White hits him with a German. #6 is Rhett Titus as Gresham tosses Sho. Titus runs wild, attacking Martinez, and then focusing on White. #7 is Kazarian. Post break, #8 was Will Ferrara, and #9 is Alex Shelley. Martinez tosses Gresham and White, and Shelley tosses Titus. #10 is former Honor Rumble winner Silas Young. He quickly tosses Ferrara and then everyone attacks Martinez, and they toss him. #11 is Sal Rinauro. #12 is Shane Taylor, and he tosses Young, Shelley and Rinauro, clearing the ring. Cody pays off Taylor to take out Kaz as #12 is Flip Gordon. Flip works over Taylor with kicks, Kaz stays in the background, as #14 is Jay Lethal. He and Taylor brawl right away. Post break, and #15 is Hanson, who works forever clotheslines to everyone. Taylor finally cuts him off, #16 is Chris Sabin; and he immediately beats down Kaz. #17 is Bully Ray, and he hoss fights right away with Taylor. Hanson cuts him off, and #18 is Ray Rowe. He runs wild, hitting strikes, knee strikes and then he and Hanson look to toss Bully. #19 is Mark Briscoe, who immediately attacks with redneck kung fu (he’s an accredited black belt). War Machine quickly tosses him, and #20 is… GLACIER! Cody is throwing a fit on commentary is great here. Post break, Glacier is in and is firing away with chops and War machine tosses Taylor. Glacier works over War Machine, and Sabin gets tossed as does Glacier. Bully then tosses War Machine, as Kaz, Lethal, Bully and Flip are left. Flip and Bully trade strikes, and then Flip looks for a springboard, and Kaz tosses him. Lethal attacks Kaz, they battle up top and Lethal sends him back to the mat. Bully slams Kaz, and Lethal works with him and hits a wazzup head butt. Bully and Lethal go face to face, Kaz returns and he tosses Bully. Lethal almost tosses Kaz, but then hits the Lethal combination. Lethal injection time, but here comes Daniels. Lethal tosses Kaz, but the ref is distracted. Daniels gets involved, Lethal looks to attack and hits the Lethal injection, but Kaz then tosses Lethal for the win. Kaz wins @ 24:35 [**¾] This was a pretty good rumble/gauntlet style match that moved along well. But it missed things that make the match great. There wasn’t a lot of drama, no real highs and lows. It pretty much stayed at one level throughout, and the finish was frustratingly flat with the Daniels run in. There’s been too many of these finishes on ROH TV, which never used to be the case. It’s becoming toorepetitive and takes away from whenit could actually be used in a meaningful way.
