The Brian Kendrick & Gentleman Jack Gallagher vs. Lince Dorado & Gran Metalik: Gallagher & Dorado in to begin. Gallagher quickly grounds Dorado. Dorado counters out and they work into pin attempts. Dorado fight out and hits a splash for 2. Metalik tags in and the luchas work double teams, covering for 2. Metalik picks up the pace, and dumps Gallagher and Kendrick. Metalik follows with a tope onto Gallagher. Back in and Kendrick attacks from behind, and covers for 2. He grounds things, and mocks Metalik. Gallagher tags in and works over Metalik with strikes. He then works the arm, and Kendrick tags back in and lays the boots to Metalik. Kendrick maintains the heat, but Metalik fights off Gallagher and gets the hot tag to Dorado. He flies in, running wild and hits a RANA and dropkick. He lays in chops and hits the lethal injection for 2. Gallagher takes out Metalik, and Kendrick hits sliced bread for 2 as it breaks down. Metalik and Dorado hit superkicks and suicide dives. Back in and Dorado hits the shooting star press for the win. Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado defeated The Brian Kendrick & Gentleman Jack Gallagher @ 7:50 via pin [**¾] This was a pretty good opener, with the lucha picking up another win and remaining the dominant tag team on 205 Live.

– Mustafa Ali comments on his match with Buddy Murphy tonight. We also get comments from Murphy, who claims he’s unstoppable. He hopes Cedric is watching.

Tony Nese vs. Keith Clayball: Nese starts to toss Clayball around right away. He follows with chops, and follows with kicks. Nese sets him up into the tree of WHOA, and continues to beat on him. Nese poses and then misses a charge. Clayball fires back with strikes, but is mowed down by Nese. Nese continues to dominate, and sends Clayball to the floor. Nese follows and drops him with a forearm strike. Back in and the running Nese finishes Clayball. Tony Nese defeated Keith Clayball @ 3:00 via pin [NR] A fine squash to get Nese back on track.

– We get a video package on Hideo Itami, looking at his troubled WWE run. He hated his team with Tozawa, because he doesn’t need a partner.

– Drake Maverick meets with Cedric. He wants Cedric to promise not to get involved in tonight’s main event. Cedric agrees. Maverick then says that next week in London, the 205 live stars will face off with the WWE UK stars.

Mustafa Ali vs. Buddy Murphy: Murphy has been on a roll, earning a title shot while beating several former champions until missing weight. Ali lays in chops, but Murphy is not impressed. Murphy cuts off a head scissors, and Ali lays in more chops. Murphy looks for a powerbomb but Ali hits a RANA and sends Murphy to the floor. Murphy avoids the plancha and hits a running suplex on the floor. Back in they go and Murphy covers for 2. Murphy now grounds things, working the back of Ali. The backdrop follows, and Murphy is controlling with ease. Murphy lays the boots to Ali and again grounds things. Ali hits a desperation jawbreaker, and they work into a double down. Murphy attacks with knee strikes, but Ali hits a dropkick. Clotheslines follow, and then an enziguri, but Murphy cuts off the rolling x-factor. Murphy locks on a sleeper, but Ali escapes and he locks on a sleeper. Murphy fades and is down on the mat. Murphy powers up and cannonballs Ali to the buckles to escape; nice counter there. Ali fires back with forearms, but Murphy cuts him off with kicks but Ali hits a satellite DDT (with Murphy trapped in the ropes) for 2. Ali then sets Murphy up top and lays in rights. He follows him up, but Murphy dumps him to the mat and lays in knee strikes; the implant DDT connects for 2. Ali gets a cradle for 2, but Murphy hits a powerbomb and another. The third follows and Ali is down. The ref checks on him as Murphy yells at him to end it. Ali is alive, and counters a powerbomb into an x-factor for 2. They work to the apron, Ali takes Murphy up top and follows him up. Murphy shoves him to the floor and then flies into a superkick by Ali! Back in they go and Ali covers for 2. Ali now misses the 450 in a call back to their tournament match. Murphy attacks the arm, turning the tide from that match. Murphy cuts off the tornado DDT, posts Ali and Murphy’s Law finishes it. Buddy Murphy defeated Mustafa Ali @ 15:45 via pin [***½] This was a very good main event, it started slow, but they slowly but surely played up the intensity and got it to another level. I loved the callbacks to the tournament match, as Ali went to hit the 450 on the arm, which led to his win in that match, only for Murphy to show he was too smart for it this time around. Murphy keeps rolling as the undisputed #1 contender, beating the champion’s friend as well as the guy who beat him in the tournament. With wins over three former champions on top of that, the build and elevation of Murphy as a legit contender has been really well done.

– End Scene.

– Thanks for reading.

Tonight’s episode of WWE 205 Live was another good show, they have settled into their formula, have built Murphy as a monster challenger, continued the rise of the luchas, got Nese back on track, and also set an interesting show for next week with the announcement that the WWE UK stars will be appearing.
