WHY? Because the big boss told me to do it.

Roman Reigns vs. The Rock: The Usos are on commentary. This is current Reigns vs. 1999, $500 shirt Rock. Reigns takes control early on, delivering suplexes as they work into back and forth. Reigns dominates until Rock hits a suplex, clotheslines and Reigns battles back and dumps him. Back in and Rock fires back, but runs into a Samoan drop. Reigns covers, but Rock counters back and lays the boots to Reigns. They keep cutting to commentary and away from the match, which is annoying. Reigns takes control with a powerbomb, the superman punch and covers for 2. They trade strikes, Reigns takes control with the spear and wins. Roman Reigns defeated The Rock @ 5:30 via pin [**] This was really clunky and didn’t come off well as a simulation. It did nothing to make me want to see an actual match.

Goldberg vs. Big E: Kofi & Big E are on commentary. BIG MEATY MEN SLAPPING MEAT! Big E is amazing here. Goldberg hits the lariat for 2. He follows with the neck breaker, hip toss and covers for 2. Goldberg dominates until Big E stuns him off the ropes and covers for 2. Big E hot shots him but Goldberg counters into a fall away slam. The spear gets 2. One more gets 1. The popup spear and dropkick follows, and Big E powders. He DDTs him on the floor, superkick by Goldberg and back in, another fall away slam follows. Superkick by Goldberg and the jackhammer finishes it. Goldberg defeated Big E @ 4:33 via pin [**½] You know what, I’d actually like to see this match for real.

– Big E is not pleased he got squashed and rants. He’s a national treasure.

Charlotte vs. Beth Phoenix: Charlotte & Beth are on commentary. Beth thinks she has the advantage since she beat Super Mario bros. in two hours. Beth takes control at the bell, but Charlotte quickly cuts her off and grounds things. Beth fires back and is cut off with a backbreaker. They keep cutting away, which is again annoying as Beth takes control. The side slam follows and Beth connects with arm drags a s thee fisherman’s suplex gets 2. Charlotte hits the spear for 2. Natural selection follows and the figure eight follows, Beth escapes, hits the Russian leg sweep and covers for 2. Beth follows with strikes and Charlotte counter into natural selection. Clotheslines follow but Beth hits a Michinoku driver for 2. Charlotte cuts her off and lays the boots to her. Beth cuts her off and Charlotte counters into a DDT. Clothesline by Beth and Charlotte grounds things. The spear follows and Charlotte covers for 2. The figure eight is escaped by Beth and Charlotte cuts her off again. The figure eight finishes it. Charlotte defeated Beth Phoenix @ 8:10 via submission [**¾] This was solidly enjoyable, but this game play is so clunky.

Seth Rollins vs. Ric Flair: Adam Cole & Johnny Gargano are on commentary. This is 1988 Ric Flair. Seth attacks with a suplex, strikes and more suplexes. He delivers kicks until Ric cut him off with the backbreaker. The piledriver follows (a minute in, fucking spot monkey) and the knee drop follows for 2. Seth escapes the figure four, Ric grounds him, heads up top and misses an elbow drop. The butterfly suplex gets 2. He follows with another and then gets cut off with the flatliner, Ric cuts him off, heads up top and the elbow drop connects for 2.Hedumps Seth and back in, hits another piledriver for 2. The figure four follows, and Seth taps. Ric Flair defeated Seth Rollins @ 4:30 via submission [***] This was the closest thing we’ll ever see to Ric Flair working an NXT style match, I enjoyed him killing Seth.

Sasha Banks vs. Trish Stratus: Sasha & Bayley are on commentary. Sasha is made up like Trish, check her Instagram, it’s a great look for her as she completely fan girls over Trish. Banks grounds things and picks up a near fall. Stratus fires back, hits suplexes and covers for 1. Banks counters back, delivers strikes and follows with the neck breaker, Stratus fires back, delivers a suplex and flapjack. Banks fires back with clotheslines, a neck breaker and covers for 2. Stratus follows with a suplex, but Banks cuts her off with a neck breaker. They trade, flapjack by Stratus and they brawl on the floor. Stratus takes control and back in, covers for 1. banks hits a jawbreaker, neck breaker and covers for 2. The backstabber Banks statement follows, Stratus escapes and they work up top, RANA by Stratus and that gets 2. The chick kick gets 2. Stratus hits the spinebuster and Banks counters the chick kick and the Banks statement finishes it. Sasha Banks defeated Trish Stratus @ 6:45 via submission [**½] This was solidly fun and a match I’d like to see.

John Cena vs. Hulk Hogan: Drake Maverick & R-Truth are on commentary. Hogan hits suplex right away, Cena battles back and overpowers him. Hogan counters back, hits a backbreaker and they brawl on the floor with Cena hitting a suplex. Ground and pound follows and Hogan fights back, whipping Cena to the barricade. Back in and Cena stuns him off the ropes, but Hogan counters with a flapjack. Hogan controls on the floor, back in and Hogan follows with elbow ropes for 2. The leg drop follows and Cena kicks out. Hogan hits a DDT and belly to belly. Cena counters into code red and the five-knuckle shuffle connects for 2. Cena follows with a suplex, flapjack, but Hogan firs back with the Thesz press and covers for 2. Cena hits another code red, strikes and the side slam. The belly to belly follows and the five-knuckle shuffle connects. Hogan battles back, hits clotheslines and elbow drops for 2. The slam and leg drop connects and Cena is done. Hulk Hogan defeated John Cena @ 7:00 via pin [**½] This was solid while Drake & Truth were a blast on commentary.

This was certainly a new experience for me to review. WWE Dream Match Mania 2020 was a fun concept, and some of the wrestlers were having a blast on commentary and a lot of it came off as fun; Big E was amazing on this show. WWE is a billion dollar company with a dog shit video game that hurt this idea. But even with the clunky game play, this was a solid and fun time, mainly due to the wrestlers having so much fun on commentary. It’s nothing to go out of your way to see here at all, but it was an interesting experiment that would have been better with a game that functions well.
