– This one almost slipped by me during the mania week festivities.

Welcome to WWE Main Event, the house that Curt Hawkins built.

Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari vs. Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali: Ali and Nese start off, with Nese laying in strikes. Ali picks up the pace but gets cut off. Alexander & Daivari tag in, with Alexander taking control. He and Ali work quick tags, Nese distracts Ali, allowing Daivari to attack. Nese then works him over on the floor, and back in, Daivari covers for 2. Daivari stops the tag and Nese is back in. The heels work quick tags and double team Ali. Nese does a nice job of cutting of the tag and also takes Alexander to the floor. Daivari misses a charge and Alexander gets the hot tag. He runs wild on Nese, and hits the back handspring kick, but Daivari makes the save. Ali takes him out, allowing Alexander to finish Nese with the lumbar check. Cedric Alexander & Mustafa Ali defeated Tony Nese & Ariya Daivari @ 5:45 via pin [**½] This was a perfectly solid and fun tag match, Nigel’s commentary was a blast as he kept wanting Ali & Alexander to make the other take punishment ahead of their Mania match.

– Back to Raw for Cena calling out Taker.. He apologizes about Undertaker, he did everything he could to summon him. He tries to fire up the crowd and try one more time to summon the Undertaker. He gets them chanting for Undertaker, but no Undertaker. Cena says the fans have poured their hearts out for Undertaker, but he won’t do anything. He’s mad Undertaker has ignored the fans, and is a dead man walking. It’s clear you left your hat in the ring and your balls at home. Cena leaves and that’s that. Cena again did a good job, and got the crowd involved again, but it really feels like a big mistake to not have Undertaker appear to make things official. Maybe his return will make for a great moment on Sunday, who knows. You can read my Raw Review here.

– Back to SMACKDOWN for Shane & Bryan talking. Bryan says they need to resolve their issues by hugging it out. Shane offers a handshake. Bryan says they shook hands two-minutes ago, and that Nashville wants to see them hug it out. Shane says he’s not much of a hugger. But the crowd wants the hug. They hug it out, and proclaim that they are on the same page and will get their payback on Sunday. Shane is looking forward to the opportunity of ridding Smackdown of Sami & Kevin. Bryan says they will beat the hell out of them at Mania. This was a good opening segment, getting the babyfaces on the same page and playing into the crowd well. Later on, Kevin & Sami invaded and say that this is their show and no one can stop them. They apologize to Birdie because they are going to ruin Bryan’s comeback, and adds that Brie won’t be able to put him back together again. Shane and Bryan watch on, and head out to the ring. The mics get cut as Kevin rants about Shane. They retreat into the crowd as Shane and Bryan arrive. Bryan says this is the last time Kevin & Sami will be on Smackdown. Shane leads the crowd in “hey, hey, good-bye” for them. You can read my SMACKDOWN Review at this link.

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows vs. The Revival: Anderson and Dash start us off. Anderson control early, but Dawson blind tags in. Anderson cuts him off and tags in Gallows, and works over Dawson and then Dash. The Good Brothers clear the ring. Post break, and Gallows is in control, hitting a pump handle slam and splash but Dash makes the save, breaking up the magic killer. The Revival then hits shatter machine for the win. The Revival defeated Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows @ 4:55 via pin [**] This was ok, but their match on Monday’s Raw was better.

– We get clips of, “The Steph & HHH Face Off With Angle & Rousey” from last week’s Raw.

– Back to Raw for Roman & Brock face off. Heyman says that Roman will have to go home to his family Sunday and admit defeat again. “You ain’t the big dog and this is not your yard, you’re just another notch on Brock’s belt, and you’re just Brock’s bitch.” Roman arrives and asks why the full time talent will protect the part timer. They allow him through and Roman hits the ring. Brock bails, and grabs a chair. He gets back in the ring and Roman attacks with Superman punches, four of them. Roman hits another and grabs the universal title and poses over a fallen Brock. Brock rises from the dead and lays him out with an F5. Heyman’s promo was good, but other than that, this was a flat and disappointing go home angle for these two. There was just no real energy and they did nothing to get me excited for the match. You can read my Raw Review here.

– End scene.

– Thanks for reading.
