Zack Ryder vs. Mike Kanellis: Kanellis attacks right away, slamming Ryder to the buckles and laying the boots to him. Kanellis follows with rights, and then follows with a corner clothesline and another. The running boot scores for 2. Kanellis grounds the action, Ryder fight to his feet, but Kanellis hits a side effect for 2. Kanellis lays in chops, but Ryder finally cuts him off and follows with a missile dropkick. Kanellis powders to the floor, and then stuns Ryder off the ropes and the superkick gets 2. Kanellis takes Ryder up top, Ryder slaps him, drops down and the rough Ryder connects for 2 as Kanellis gets the ropes. Kanellis now slams Ryder to the post and hits a sit out Michinoku driver for 2. Kanellis mocks Ryder, goes for the broski boot, misses, and the rough Ryder finishes him. Zack Ryder defeated Mike Kanellis @ 5:30 via pin [***] This was a good little back and forth match. They made good use of the time, have previously worked together and clearly had a plan and both showed their experience here in a fun and clean match.

– Back to Raw for Undertaker’s Appearance. JIP as taker says delusion will be Triple H’s downfall. There was a time when Triple H was a warrior, but now he plays the corporate game in the boardroom. His life is filled with so many lies he can’t deceiver truth and can’t see the fear in his friend’s eye or his own demise. When he faces Triple H for the final time, it will end like before, he’ll bury him 6-feet under, game over. Triple H will do everything he can, moving heaven and earth while risking HBK’s life. Triple H can have his best friend HBK, because HBK isn’t going to go to watch the fight in the crowd, he’ll be in Triple H’s corner. Taker is fine with that because Kane will be in his corner. Taker took HBK’s career, and will take Triple H’s as well. He’ll also take his soul and put him down. This was a solid promo segment, designed to continue the built to Triple H vs. taker at Super Show-Down, and the rumored Triple H & Michaels vs. Brothers of Destruction match at WWE: Sweet Saudi Money. You can read my Raw Review here.

– Back to Smackdown for Becky Lynch’s Championship Celebration. JIP as Becky says she stopped listing and says to shut up because the champ is talking. She beat Charlotte, and proved her wrong. She didn’t let Charlotte take her spotlight at HIAC, but says Charlotte can raise he hand tonight. Charlotte refuses so Becky tells her to strap the title on her. Charlotte says she wished there was some of her friend left, and congratulates her again. Becky says she was kidding, and then tells Charlotte to call her queen. Charlotte goes to leave, Becky calls her a bitch and they brawl to the floor and Becky slams her over the announce table and then to the barricade. Becky locks on the disarmher and stands tall and then hits an XPLODER. Becky leaves sad Charlotte in the ring. This was a pretty good segment to close the show, they are determined to make Becky the heel here, and her stuff was good, but the fans aren’t buying it and still want to support her. It doesn’t help that Charlotte doesn’t come off as a sympathetic babyface in any way. You can read my Smackdown Review here.

Apollo Crews vs. Mojo Rawley: They lockup and Mojo hits a shoulder tackle. He talks trash, and hits another. Crews picks up the pace and follows with a dropkick and arm drags as he grounds the action. Mojo battles to his feet, gets dumped to the floor, Crews follows but Mojo wipes him out with a lariat. Back in and Mojo covers for 2. Mojo then grounds the action with the Corbin/Mahal shitty half nelson. Crews fights to his feet, hits an enziguri and the standing shooting star press for 2. Mojo counters the Apollo bomb, and then hits a toss up gut buster for 2. Crews counters the Alabama slam, hits an enziguri, and finishes Mojo with the frog splash for the win. Apollo Crews defeated Mojo Rawley @ 6:39 via pin [**½] This was a perfectly solid back and forth match; Crews moves to 2-0 on Main Event following his split from Titus O’Neil.

– Back to Raw for Roman Reigns vs. Baron Corbin. JIP as Corbin again powders to the floor, Reigns follows and hits a superman punch. Back in and Corbin powders. He then throws a chair at Reigns and we get a DQ. BUT WAIT, Fuck face restarts this as a No DQ match. Back in and Corbin has the chair. Superman punch and Reigns gets 2. Reigns grabs the chair, and Braun arrives. He distracts Reigns and Corbin attacks. Braun in the ring and works over Reigns but Reigns sidesteps him and Braun posts himself. Deep six follows and Corbin covers for 2. Dolph & Drew arrive and check on Braun. Seth & Dean arrive and we get the big brawl. Seth & dean hit suicide dives. Reigns now gets cut off by Corbin, but then hits a spear for the win. Champion Roman Reigns vs. Constable Corbin @ 16:50 via pin [*½] This was a completely uninspired main event that they tried to dress up with the smoke and mirrors at the end like at Hell in a Cell. At least it served at set up for Super Show-Down and possibly Survivor Series. You can read my Raw Review here.

– End scene.

– Thanks for reading.

This week’s episode of WWE Main Event was another solid show, with a good Ryder vs. Kanellis match and a solid Crews vs. Mojo match. The Becky & Undertaker segments were also good, but the Reigns vs. Corbin stuff was absolute trash.
