Davey Boy Smith Jr. Reportedly Received Offers From All Japan and Pro Wrestling NOAH After Leaving NJPW
July 4, 2019 | Posted by
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Davey Boy Smith Jr received offers from both All Japan Pro Wrestling and Pro Wrestling NOAH when he left NJPW. He is currently contracted to MLW.
There has also been talk for him to appear in AEW, as Jim Ross has been high on him and they have used MLW talent in the past like Jimmy Havoc and MJF. However, most people expect that those two will leave MLW when their contracts expire. MLW would likely be fine with Smith getting pushed in AEW, but if he’s going to be in the MLW title picture, they wouldn’t want him working there as “just a guy.”
Compare this to MJF, who is clearly being position as a top heel for AEW.
