As we previously reported, AEW Dynamite defeated NXT yet again, 865,000 viewers (with a 0.30 rating) to NXT’s 717,000 (0.23). Both shows were down from the week before, even with Dynamite being the final show before Revolution and NXT having Charlotte Flair. As always The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has a full breakdown of the numbers. Dynamite was down 3.6% from last week and 3.2% in 18-49. NXT was down 9.7% and 8% respectively.

At least for AEW, while the idea of a Iron Man match may draw in the hardcore fans, the format is traditionally bad for TV ratings as people know the finish won’t happen until the time limit expires. It was also noted that AEW may have hurt NXT slightly, as running the Countdown show immediately after Dynamite likely prevented some of the usual crossover that NXT’s overrun gets.

AEW was ranked ninth in the adults 18-49 demographic, behind four news shows it usually defeats, two NBA games on ESPN, Black Ink Crew 8B (VH1) and Real Housewives of New Jersey (Bravo). NXT was #17, which is better than usual. The ESPN game that went head to head with both shows had 940,000 viewers and a 0.41 in 18-49.

Dynamite was down 10.6% with men and up 14.8% with women. It also had the lowest number ever with teenagers, but AEW finally beat NXT in 50+. Dynamite had 0.06 in 12-17 (down 50%), 0.21 in 18-34 (up 16.7%), 0.39 in 35-49 (down 11.4%) and 0.36 in 50+ (down 5.3%). The audience was 65.6% male in 18-49 and 64.2% male in 12-17.

NXT was up with men 0.9%, down with women 23.8% and beat AEW with teenagers, although both shows did poorly in that demo. It had a 0.07 in 12-17 (down 50%), 0.13 in 18-34 (down 31.6%), 0.33 in 35-49 (up 6.5%) and 0.34 in 50+ (down 10.5%). The audience was 70.2% male in 18-49 and 69.8% male in 12-17.
