According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (via Wrestling Inc), the original plan for No Mercy was to have Brock Lesnar defeat Braun Strowman and retain the WWE RAW Universal Championship. The PPV happens on September 24. Paul Heyman stressed in his promo last night on RAW that Lesnar is the underdog.

Lesnar’s appearance last night on RAW, which saw Strowman lay out Lesnar, will be his last before No Mercy. He isn’t schedule for next week’s RAW at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, which is the last show before the PPV. He will, however, be visible, as he filmed material last night that will air next week. He’s also not scheduled for the episode of RAW that airs after No Mercy, on September 25 from Ontario, California. At this time, Braun Strowman is scheduled for next week’s RAW.
