Details On How MJF and Chris Jericho’s Le Dinner Debonair Segment Came About
A new report has some details on how the heavily talked-about “Le Dinner Debonair” segment between MJF and Chris Jericho on AEW Dynamite came about. As noted, the segment saw Jericho and MJF turn their dinner into a musical routine with the two singing Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr’s “Me and My Shadow” and has become heatedly discussed online, with fans either thinking it was the best or worst thing in quite a while.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the segment was originally thought of by MJF, who was inspired by the Elton John biopic Rocketman. While AEW initially wanted to use an Elton John song, Jericho suggested “Me and My Shadow” instead.
The segment has been praised by Tony winner Alex Boniello, and drew 800,000 viewers according to Jericho.
