Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (via Ringside News) has some details on WWE’s plans for the women’s division for when Ronda Rousey eventually makes her exit from the company, as well as what Rousey’s own intentions for the division are whenever she leaves.

Rousey reportedly doesn’t have a “firm” date on when she will take a hiatus, although it’s been rumored that she’ll leave after Wrestlemania. Her goal is to leave the women’s division in better shape than when she found it. She wants the women to be able to main event PPVs without her, which is what she was able to do for UFC.

He said: “There is even now there is no firm date on Ronda leaving. I mean it’s inevitable, but it’s not, ‘Is it SummerSlam?’ It’s up to her. It’s 100% up to her. I mean Vince has input. Vince can beg her for another month and I’m sure she will probably do the other month. They’re on good terms. This isn’t like Brock where he’s calling his shots completely and you know showing his power and Vince just acquiesces to everything he wants. With Ronda, Ronda’s a team player 100% a team player.

A lot of the changes made to this past Monday’s RAW apparently had to do with Ronda’s match with Ruby Riott, which were put in place at the last minute. Originally, the match was said to be Rousey in a non-title match with Alexa Bliss, which would have had Rousey win in a squash. Instead, Riott was given the spot. The two were said to be comfortable working together and Rousey was glad to give Riott more time to show her talent in the ring.

Whenever Rousey eventually leaves, it’s believed that the “big 3” female superstars will be Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Lacey Evans.
